What have you seen on the EA? (running thread)

Thanks Debbie & lawgs! I just may have to make that hike :teeth:

I'll report back how it goes.

Can't wait to see the EA!

That's funny! I've had dreams about looking for cars on the EA, it never seems to look like it actually does. The last time when I was actually there a little smile came to my face when I thought this isn't a dream! I think we may be thinking about this too much! ;)

By the way, if you go back to page 1 I wanted to rent a Camry over a year ago because I was thinking of buying one. Didn't get one from National in May 2002 or December 2002. Finally rented one in May 2003 and bought one last month! Turned out the one I rented was the same color as the one I bought (desert sand). When I took my test drive, the salesman was amazed I knew where everything was! My Grand Am was 5 years old, I couldn't make up my mind if I wanted to trade it yet, but once I rented the Camry I knew I wanted it! It had a week long test drive on my own!

Drove a new Camry for the 1st time last month. Picked it up off the Full-size Aisle and really enjoyed it. The aisles were loaded with Malibu’s and Century’s. Found one Camry at the very end of the aisle. Great gas mileage and excellent trunk space. Imho better than the Century. Picked one up at the Car Care Center last weekend. They only had 2 full-size avail last Sunday morning. A Century and a Monte Carlo. Hard to get our excess bags into the back seat of the Chevy so chose the 4dr Century. Why do they still choose to only put Cassettes in some cars?:(
DebbieBEnjoy your new car.:)

Good question about the casettes. We had a regal last Sept. which had a casette and a very well concealed cd player. The Monte Carlo had both and last feb. the Intrepid had both. Maybe Centurys simply don't have them except as an option.

Just got back on Wednesday. Picked up my car last Saturday (7/26) morning on EA @ 11:00 AM. I had some extra time and checked both A and B locations. "A" had a much larger and better selection of cars. They had the usual Galants, Malibus, Centurys, plus a Sebring Coupe, Monte Carlo, Grand Ams, a 4-door Frontier Pickup (HUGE), RAV4, a couple Mitsubishi Outlanders, a Regal with leather, a couple Impalas, a Jeep Liberty (which I took, great truck by the way), a couple Geo Trackers or the Suzuki equivalent, a couple Corollas, Camry and a Matrix wagon.

They seemed to hold back the PT Cruisers as an upgrade. I didn't ask about them as the regular EA selection was pretty good.

The whole EA was really easy to use and checking the car out and back in was really easy. I will absolutely use National in the future.

just got back from MCO ....did not use "EA" this time since it was a two day rental and national was twice the company we rented from ( albeit, we would probably not rent from the company again several issues )

A aisle.....once again not as many vehicles ....but lots of centuries, galants, malibus....a couple of impalas and one sebring...probably about 3 outlander type SUVS there.....one grand prix

B aisle .....many more cars ......but similar "mix of cars" but noticed some "trakkers" and "ravs" along with the oullanders.....also a couple of intrepids ( full size) and grand prixs....no vans at ALL....

we were there "wednesday" around 11:00 am did the walk through before getting on the "shuttle" bus to our rental.....which did not have very good signage, and "long" waits between buses ( even had one empty shuttle pass the loading area without stopping which i thought was ODD )

anyhow ....there goes for what we saw last on EA

We were on the A side on 7/26 and picked up a Mitsubishi Outlander SUV. There were several Intrepids there also but can't tell you what else was there. Once my husband saw the SUV he said he wanted that. Also, for those who are wondering, we made the reservation back in March for a full size on the Emerald Aisle before they changed this. We had no problems using our old reservation, even got the same great rate of $175 for 10 days. I took my printout but no one asked to see it. All they wanted was the Disney Club coupon. Never asked to see Emerald Aisle card, Disney Club card, etc. even though I had all of that ready.

Thanks for the update Daisymeo. Can I ask what time of day you arrived?

We arrived at about 1:30 PM. I think this car had just been placed on the aisle as it was the first car on the end of the aisle.

7/31 A side. We got there about 9 pm. There were no full size cars on the aisle. There was a small SUV; a pick up; lots of corrolas; and a silver PT cruiser with 1300 miles on it which we took.

I was surprised as well. The 2003 Carolla redesign is bigger and taller then last years model. It looks like a 7/8 scale Camry. It is the same platform as the Matrix wagon which I also saw on the EA.

But then again, I am not sure why Regals count as full-size and Centurys count as intermedates when they are basically the same car. Granted the Regals at National have leather seats and a pretty good sound system, they certainly aren't a bigger car.

Both Centurys and Regals are considered full size cars. If you look at Alamo's site, they have the Century listed as a full size car, in fact, that is their example.

I rented a Corolla last December, it was classified as an intermediate, it was on the EA. It wasn't a bad car, they are bigger than they were in the past, we got all our luggage in the trunk. It was great on gas, I only paid like $5 for gas for the week.

I believe you Debbie, but, that simply blows my mind. The trunk is way too small for our "stuff" and I will tell you that that classification is what is making me keep my full size reservation rather than to gamble for a convertable with a downgrade to EA.
Thanks for the verification.
