What have you learned on the DIS?

Was that real a topic on here? I must have missed that one....

I knew that if you didn't wear one to a wedding that made you trash, but I had no idea about at MK?!?!!?

OH YES!

There was great disappointment from people that dress codes weren't more strict. Not just in nice restaurants, but in the parks themselves.

Now if you'll excuse me I must go find my pearls. It's nearly time for the Hoop-De-Doo-Review!

Because you have bills you should not vacation. It's a sin.

Wearing scrubs in public is icky.

Most importantly, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Ahhh right on, right on!

sin= having bills and vacationing (I read that thread)
damned if you, damned if you don't for goodness sake sooo true!!

Not sure about the scrubs... I wear scrubs to work everyday. I dont purposely go out to events, shopping or to the movies in them but it's what we wear to work.. oh well! LoL.

If you go to a Long Island wedding, try to find out how much your "hosts" spent on you, because that's how much a guest usually gives as a wedding gift.

And I've learned lots of actual WDW-related stuff too!

not only a LI wedding but anywhere east coast!!!

I didn't realize that taking a pool towel back with you to your room is just about as bad as drowning kittens. It never occured to me that using that wet towel to
cover my body on the way back to the room was taramount to stealing.

EXACTLY!!!!:thumbsup2

I literally could not have said that better myself!!!!!!! right on!
:rotfl::rotfl:Im laughing so hard Im crying! I love this THREAD!!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I have learned that the Dis people are the most helpful people, when I need info..and know so much correct stuff about so many things. I can't count how many times someone has said to me..how do you know that? And I can say, I learned it on the Dis.

I have learned to save a ton of money, with great coupon url's posted.

I have learned so much about WDW (and now DL), that each visit is easier than the last.

I have learned that I can be in the middle of nowhere, and need info on the strangest stuff to win a contest, and I post it and within minutes I have an answer.

I have learned that a bunch of strangers will willing pray for, give advice (most of it good LOL) to, lend a helping hand, and with the exception of a few, be kind even if someone is acting like a fool LOL!

I learned about the amazing world of special clothes for children to wear to WDW--for the longest time I thought people were writing about (and misspelling) "costumes" but then I realized they were really talking about something I had never heard of before, called "customs." Very interesting!

:confused3
That the Community board is not the most brutal board here.

DVC'ers and campers do not get along.

If you whine at Disney you'll get something in return.

Because you have bills you should not vacation. It's a sin.

Wearing scrubs in public is icky.

Coconuts kill more people than pitbulls.

Most importantly, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Wearning scrubs in public is icky. Oh my! I just wore my scrubs to Target. I had no idea:confused3

Never discuss how much money you spent on food and alcohol because you will be called a glutten, a binge eater, an alcoholic etc etc. It doesn' t matter that thousands or millions of people have bought the deluxe dining plan and there are bars around every corner. You are the only one that likes to eat, drink and be merry when on vacation.:confused3 Never admit that you use credit cards or have a car payment because everyone one on the disboard is debt free.:sad2:

You're in luck, you can still ride with the Toad at Disneyland in California, at least I think I can. I just learned I am too lazy to use Google to confirm that which is pretty common here too.

Yes you can still ride it at dl. I knew there was something missing at wdw I just couldn't put my finger on it.

I've learned I'm a bad person for leaning my airplane seat back. And I've learned that there are alot of people out there that get "livid" over the tiniest things.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!! :rotfl:

Funny thread!

On a serious note, I have learned:

1- You can get free face painting at MNSSHP

2- You can enter MNSSHP before 7 pm an printed on the ticket

3- You can book character dining inside the park before the park officially opens so you can get a jump start on your day

4- A Dole Whip is a treat you MUST try...this is on my list for my upcoming trip!

5- I can feed my Disney addiction ( at least a little) between trips by hanging out on the board :woohoo:

:confused3 There's a thread about it here on the CB

I've also learned that no matter if you butt heads with someone over a topic they will still support you in a time of need. The boards are filled with very caring and compassionate people.

I've learned that parents dont want schools telling them when they can take their kids out of school, or what their child can wear, or how much homework they should have, etc. BUT....they want the school to be responsible for their childs discipline so that they dont have to do it at home AND they think that teachers hsould put together homework packets for their child IF they do take their child out of school to go to Disney.

Oh yeah...that leads me to...Disney is more important than school.

I've learn that for teachers its a no win situation. Damned if you do, damned if you dont.

I've learned that with this post I may get flamed to kingdom come.....

I've learned that some people actually consider their pets their children. Furbaby? Really? You do know that it is just a dog/cat when it all boils down, right?

I understand that a pet can be a very important part of a persons life if they have been around for a long time but to them you are just one of a hundred people. They would be just as happy to sniff their butt as to be scratched by you. :confused3

Kimblebee, you do realize that this post was number 666 for you, right? :scared1: I think the devil made you do it. ;)

Seriously, I love my pets, my pets love me, and they definitely would rather me pet them than for them to sniff their butts. But they're cats, not much butt sniffing there. :earboy2:

I've learned that NO MATTER WHAT anyone says, there will always be someone who disagrees. C'est la vie! :)

Love my cat. Sorry but pets can be major roles in peoples lives. Especially us folks without children. Believe me I want children but I will still love my cat as much as I do now. She brings a smile to my face and that is all that matters.

I just love these videos. Pets love their owners!!

That some people hang towels in the guest bath and expect the guests will know not to use them.
Don't you go using my decorative towels!!! (In all seriousness, I've gotten much less uptight about this since posting that!)

I learned years ago that my fiancé (of almost two years at the time, and of who I had been dating for six years), should have IMMEDIATELY left me and called off our engagementbecause I was thinking of asking him to find a suitable new home for his (two-year-old) dog before we moved in together, because I had bad allergies, or that I should suffer with hives and asthma because "the dog was there before the ring".

(For those who cursed me and thought he should have chosen the dog over me, you'd be happy to know that I now live, with my HUSBAND, itch-free and can breathe, and the dog is in a happy home with two loving children.)
