What have you learned on the DIS?

I have learned that any time someone does anything at all out of the ordinary it is because they have an unseen disability. Kids don't just cry or act up for no reason because they are kids, they must be on the spectrum. Adults can't be impolite douche nozzles, they must have some kind of disability that interferes with their proper interaction with society.

:rotfl: Exactly!!

Suggest peoples read the 'New Rules' thread for more of this kind of hilarity!!!

I too learned that Long Island brides plan extravagant weddings they can't possible afford and then expect their guests to cover the tab.

Teachers are incompetent and out to get our children.

People actually have sex in hotel rooms that they are sharing with their children. (Or mothers, wasn't there a mom thread too?).

And that is why you should never touch the comforter or carpet in a hotel room (another thing I learned).

But cooking Thanksgiving dinner in the coffee pot is not only ok but encouraged.

I forgot to add I learned what cheapskates people can be. I would never in a million years ask people for flight coupons or participate in passing a refrigerator from guest to guest around a resort instead of just paying them for the added benefit of refrigeration.

That threads under "Disney Trip Planning Forums" don't have to be related to planning trips, or Disney at all, for that matter.

I have learned you can cook hot dogs with a coffee maker.

I have learned that a large percentage of people think dining is spelled dinning.

I have learned that some people consider it art to take pictures of a half eaten plate of food.

I have learned what The Shocker is.
This is just from this month. I'm too old to remember anything before that.

 You learned that on the DIS!!?!?!?!?!?

1) that I'm not NEARLY as sensitive as I thought I was.
2) That I have little to no patience for people who ARE overly sensitive.
3) I'm capable of ignoring said sensitive people.
4) Disagreeing with someone, even in a calm manner, is personally insulting to them.
5) I really missed the boat because I never got to go to Disney before the demise of Mr. Toads Wild Ride.

OH YEAH!

And it's OK for people to urinate and/or defecate and/or change a diaper anywhere they damn well please. It's not disgusting, it's just "different".

I have to say that after reading some of these, that not only do I agree with most, but I have found the answers to this thread absolutely HILARIOUS!!!!!!!

Me too!!:rotfl2:

I learned that some Disers have really goods senses of humor and some others have none!

Yes. Yes you did.

STOP TORTURING ME!!!!!!!!!!! It's not my fault my family was POOR and I didn't get there until I was 18! :rotfl:

You're in luck, you can still ride with the Toad at Disneyland in California, at least I think I can. I just learned I am too lazy to use Google to confirm that which is pretty common here too.

If you go to a Long Island wedding, try to find out how much your "hosts" spent on you, because that's how much a guest usually gives as a wedding gift.

Me too...

In addition a few others would be---

-- I also learned to be thankful that I don't live in LI or anywhere else on the east coast, since they have lots of strange rules like that.

--That there a lot of germ-o-phobes in the world, some of whom do really crazy things to "protect" themselves.

--No matter the subject posted, at least one person will disagree with the basic premise of the post and someone likely will be offended by it too.

--People would rather start a thread for a simple question vs actually using google to find the answer.

-- If you make a post about -- cell phones/kids, teachers, pool hopping or cup reusing, you can just get a box of popcorn and watch the fun begin!! popcorn::

I learned..

most Disney fans are kind, giving, polite and have a zest for living. On this boards we have a little drama but when you come down to it 99% of us are super people.

The remaining 1% can bite me.

People don't know the difference between The Shocker, The Sign of The Horns, and The Pitchfork.

So true..,love your post!!! :)

1) that some posters are not allowed to spend money without approval

2) some parents don't allow their highschoolers to walk to school

3) people think it is ok to disregard etiquette

4) posters think they have the right to intrude on a school whenever they want
