I am preparing to pack. (I may sound very calm but I am actuallly freaking out a bit)

Instead of sharing packing lists, I thought it might be fun for you all to note something(s) that you have forgotten to pack that you didn't realize until you got to WDW.

My hope is that from this list I will be able to compile a good packing list. Besides, it will be interesting to see what people forget!

So, confess! What have you forgotten to pack?

Anne

These are the things that I seem to forget each trip~

Batteries.
Tylenol (adult and childrens)
Flip Flops

Don't forget batteries!!!! This made for one very miserable little kid when her Tink spinning toy quit working after the first day.

I've never forgotten (knock on wood) to pack anything because I make a million lists, pack for a couple of days, constantly double and triple checking everything. BUT, I almost always forget something at the hotel because we're usually in such a mad panic on check out morning to get out of there. My husband's $30 orthopedic pillow that he has to have, I bet we've spent 3 times that much over the years having it shipped back to us.

I forgot swimsuits once. Knowing what the weather is like now though, I douby you'll be needing a swimsuit though. A jacket and sweetshirts is more like it.

Also, if you have kids who want to collect autographs (or you do), don't forget to pack extra pens just in case you loose one or one runs out of ink. On my last trip, I had bought one of those large pens they sell at WDW for autographs and it ran out of ink halfway through my first day. :( Fortunatly I remembered to bring a spare pen from home just in case.

I once forgot the tylenol (never again) but every trip it seems I'm making the mad dash back inside for something or another. Our last trip (not to WDW) we almost forgot my sons floaties for swimming - he reminded us when we weren't out of the subdivision so no big deal. (We felt bad that the 4 yr old remembered but we didn't).

Another must have is Tums and DH glasses (he's always forgetting these).

On our last trip I feel like I packed better then for our first trip. This time I brought Tums, Pepto - Bismol pills (these are life savers - Tums doesn't solve everything), Advil, and even Visine. But I didn't bring cold medicine. Darn - we needed it!

The other thing I packed this time becasue I didn't last time - is a duffel bag! We rolled up an empty duffel bag and packed it in our smaller suitcase. When we packed to leave, we started with souveniers and padded them with clothes in the suitcase, then we shoved the rest of the clothes in the duffel bag. I don't know how we would have gotten everything home otherwise!

Sun lotion and tampons!! We went in December and I didn't think we'd need sun lotion but it was clear and sunny. Also, since I had spent so much time preparing/planning our trip I wasn't watching my calendar. Wouldn't you know it? The first morning I had to send DH down to the gift shop to buy some rather expensive tampons!!

cold cream or anything to remove makeup. and none of the shops at Boardwalk, BC, or WL carried it. I had to use soap and water every night.

very sad facial skin:(

The trip we just got back from was my mom's first trip in a LONG time...she nearly forgot her wallet and fannypack (the combination of the two happened later). We had to turn around about 2 miles from home to come get them.

One trip, DH was in the limo on the way to the airport when he realized he forgot his sunglasses! (hey, you don't think of sunglasses at 6 a.m.!). We bought him a pair at the Orlando airport, which he broke the next day, so another pair was purchased at WDW.

Another trip, I thought I was SO together, had everything covered. We were driving out of Orlando airport when older DD turns to me and asks,"Did you remember the old passes?" We had unused days on our passes from our previous trip, that we planned on using up this trip. Well, need I tell you those passes were safely tucked in the scrapbook at home! We thought about phoning our neighbor who had a key to our house, to ask her to get them and Fed-Ex them to us, but we just went down to guest services our first day, and "traded up" our park passes. Our last trip, we finally remembered to bring those old passes (and need I mention how many times DD reminded me to pack them?):p

i pack and repack atlest 3 times every trip so i don't forget much

but on our March trip i forgot to bring our sweat shirts
and when we got to AK it was cold so guess what our soveniors were
some very expensive sweatshirts.

most anything you do forget you can get at the wal mart
if you are going to have a car

Have a great trip

My aunt and uncle have just gone on holiday to Australia for a month and we got a phone call the day they had arrived asking if we could post out my aunts driving licence. She had left it in her other handbag back home in England and if we didn't send it to her my uncle would have to do all the driving! Funny thing is I did the same when we went to Las Vegas a few years ago so my husband had to do all the driving. Which was OK until we had to drive from Las Vegas to San Diego to get to my friends mums house! I will always make sure I put my driving licence in my hand luggage now!

I forgot Benadryl. I didn't think we would need it, but my son had a mild reaction to the detergent used on the sheets. I paid over $9.00 for a teeny bottle-three times what I would have spent at home. On the plus side, a CM openned the gift shop for me at 6:00 a.m. so I could buy some.

Here's another medicine hint: If you bring children's tylenol, but forget it in your room, the first aid centers will administer some to your child.

I pride myself on my computerized packing list, but last year, my daughter decided to change from wearing her sneakers to her flip flops in the car because they would be easier to put on and off. She left her sneakers on the floor of her room, and now owns a 25.00 pair of Mickey Mouse sneakers (that she helped pay for:earsgirl: ). My advice would be that just because everything is crossed off doesn't mean it's really packed-- especially if you have kids! Have fun.
