What has happened to the Living Statues?

Besides the Living Statues, I am mourning the loss of Roland le Mime (the balloon guy in France).

Now, I will admit that I was sad to see Gordoon the Clown leave several years ago, and there have been some good replacements, but seeing the World Showcase Players all over World Showcase doesn't do it for me.

The Living Statues and Roland le Mime were typical of street performances all over Europe (ok, don't bring out the mistreated dancing bears we used to see on the streets in Austria, but keeping something authentic is important to the flavour of World Showcase)

I mentioned this in April and was firmly told on the boards and by CM's that the entertainment was still the same. Last week I happened to find a times guide from last September, as well as one from this April, and lo and behold - I was correct. The entertainment in general stopped much earlier in April 2005 vs September 2004. I am a WS girl, and used to spend my evenings walking back and forth from Italy to France to watch the Living Statues and Roland le Mime. (OK, he did eventually seem to think that I was stalking him, but I love the kids' reactions during his show!) During my April visit, there was virtually no entertainment after 715pm.

I am all for change, and would like to see some new acts. However, when I was last in WS in April, Sergio was not drawing the crowds, and most people left after a minute or two.

My vote is to bring back Roland le Mime, the Living Statues, and Cast in Bronze (remember them?!)

Edited because I am having technical difficulties! :teeth:

:scared: Wow- I don't visit for a year and things start to dissapear, first the beavertails now the living statues!!! Please let it stop here....... :scared:

:sad2: I think that the LS are unique and fresh all the time. They offer double entertainment due to their talent and crowd interaction. BG will benefit tremendously from WDW mistake. Some things are meant to stay as they are reasons people return. We were thinking of squeezing 1 day in on a summer trip tp visit family, and believe it or not, now we are going to try BG over Epcot, which was our orig choice for 3 reasons: Soarin'/MS/ and hopes of seeing the Living Statues. We are still saddened by the loss of Tapestry of Dreams....I hope they return to WDW in the future, or perhaps next will be USO or Sea World. All aare great places to see some great talent.

I've just sent my e-mail. Hope it helps! I strongly agree that the performers that interact with people are the best, especially when it's unexpected (look at the raves for DeVine and Wes Palm at AK). My 4 yo DD's favorite thing on our last vacation was the talking garbage can in Tomorrowland.

No Coach Rick is misinformed. The Tomorrowland Countdown is still there. They can be seen Sunday, Monday, Thursday & Saturday at 11:00 & 11:50am, 12:40 & 1:30pm.

Sorry, I am not misinformed. Tomorrow Land Countdown is now a rock band. The brass band that that Simba's Mom correctly pointed out was mostly made up of former Future Corps members is no longer. It is now a 12 piece Rock Band. As quoted from Steve Soares website:
"NP Tomorrowland Countdown
12-piece rock band, performs the songs of The Pointer Sisters, Chuck Mangione, Tower of Power and others with a high-energy, futuristic twist.
Sunday, Monday, Thursday & Saturday at 11:00 & 11:50am, 12:40 & 1:30pm
Length of show: 20 minutes"

What's next, the Jaminators? (also made up of some future corps members)
