What has Disney removed that makes you the saddest?

20,000 leagues under the Sea
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
The old Imagination pavilion at Epcot

Goofy's voice welcoming you to whatever floor in the elevators at the CR.

Minnie and Mickey's big houses you could walk through in Toon Town. (My 27 yr old daughter nearly wept when she realized they were gone.)

The Sky Buckets. Haha. Just kidding. But I think I miss those good ol' days when you could cheat death and/or witness acts of grave stupidity in the next bucket.

New Mr Potato Head parts to collect.

The random meeting of characters in the MK. Everything being planned and scheduled is understandable, but I remember as a 4 year old my Mom and I walking around a corner in Frontierland and BAM! standing in front of me was Donald Duck walking with a handler heading somewhere. Donald was my favorite, there he was on the move, but stopped, saw my DD shirt and spent about 2 minutes with me one-on-one, then went about his way.

At the time I had started that walk with my Mom bummed because my Dad and older brother were riding BTMRR and I was too small and thought I was missing the fun. Instead 32 years later it is one of my favorite Disney memories. That spontaneity was truly Disney Magic.

Not exactly the saddest but my 2 year old daughter is obsessed with Mickey and Minnie's house right now. I should have never showed her the youtube videos. We'll be there late August so I better break the news to her that they are gone... that should go well :scared1: lol. It would have been nice for her to see their houses but I think she'll have plenty to do.

Only read the first 4 pages of this thread, but does anybody remember the Catwalk Bar? It used to be the best place to have a quiet lunch brought up from the Brown Derby.

Besides that I would have to say The Adventurers Club hands down.

Wow is my signature Outdated!

I remember that bar! Great place to relax, sad to see it go.

I've been to WDW every year since I was born, I've seen a ton of cutbacks. Aside from rides like Toad, World of Motion, Horizons...... What I think has been the most outrageous cutback is how MVMCP has changed. The park used to be cleared of dayguests completely before it opened for the party. You'd walk onto an empty Main Street where it was snowing.... You'd get special pins as you waited at the gates.... A free family photo.... No lines since capacity was a bit more limited..... It just isn't the same now!

Plaza Swan Boats

If You Had Wings

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride

Waterfall in Polynesian lobby

Resort-specific themed merchandise

Higher quality food

Spontaneity not found in FP+

Aunt Polly's snack bar on Tom Sawyer Island

Reliability of monorail system

These are for Disneyland - 1) They replaced Swiss family tree house with Tarzan....Pssshh 2) They took crab legs off the menu at the blue bayou restaurant...

I could go for days with Disneyland.

Country Bears.
America Sings
Peoplemover
Rockets in their correct location
Motor boat cruise
Skyway
Second floor of starcade
Music/book store (now pins)
Jolly trolley
Lilly Belle for the public (upon request)

For WDW, I didn't get to go until 2010. I "miss" all of the rides/shows/pavilions in Epcot I never got to see.

Where to begin?

Main Street Bakery
Horizons
Wonders of Life
Spectromagic
GAC
Snow White's Adventures
Attention to maintenance
Penny Arcade
Polynesian Lobby
Ability to enjoy theme parks without months of planning
El Rio De Tiempo
Living Seas
Decent Resort TV
Direct Transportation Routes
Chicken at 'Ohana
High quality mechandise

What I really miss is the old Fantasyland at night. Once it got to midnight you could run from Snow White to the old Dumbo to the carousel to Toad and then do it again and again and again.

We got back recently and that experience is gone. The ever expanding lines for 7DMT and moving Dumbo have spoiled the whole thing (to say nothing of the demise of SW and toad). People seem to be keeping their kids up later and later...

2 Dumbos? It spoils the magic.

My DH says he really misses beaver tail in Canada. Funnel cakes just aren't the same.

DD just misses being there.

We just returned from our first trip back in a few years(last one was right before SpectroMagic finished its run, though we didn't know that). My 16 year old nephew asked me if MSEP was the same parade we saw the last time we had all gone because he thought it looked generic and not as magical as he remembered. So definitely SpectroMagic for our family.

I don't have the time to read the thread, and probably most of these have been mentioned, but here goes…

Tarzan Rocks
Wonders of Life Pavilion
Food Rocks
the original Spaceship Earth (HATE the new ending)
The capacity-controlled, experience-maximized MNSSHP and MVMCP
Park passes that were good FOREVER
Legacy FP
Random street stuff- statues in Italy, puppeteers and one man band on the Boardwalk, mimes, candy maker, etc. in WS
Tapestry of Nations

I'm sure there are more :worried:

ETA: Lights of Winter, resort specific mugs

Tomorrow's Child is a very moving song and along with the last scenes (which were removed) left an impact as we traveled back to the end of the ride. I think that Disney could have somehow added the "computer scenes" and left the classic scenes as well. The "cartoon" was cute for the first couple of times but now....not so much. Glad that I could clarify the song for you:flower3:

SSE is about all the progress we have made over time. I think they missed a real opportunity when they removed all the "future" stuff to come. They should somehow have showcased this to show what was anticipated and how we've accomplished it. THEN they could have left the whole spiraling down to earth show, with all the different light effects in the tunnel. This whole interactive cartoon thing is just plain lame, and not at all a worthy ending to SSE. This used to be my favorite ride in WDW. Now, since the revamp, I don't care if we ride it at all.
