If you haven't used or banked your points by the end of your use year, they are lost. To avoid this happening, book your travel as soon as possible in your use year and bank any left over points. If you later decide you want to take a few more days before the end of the use year, you can't un-bank those points, but you can borrow points from the next year.

As there are more and more members, renting points seems to be getting harder. Unless you are a seasoned renter who has a clientel base. Trying to rent onesies and twosies would be a lot harder since you have to find someone who can use exactly that many points. Check out the Rent/Trade Board to see how many rentals are going on just on the DIS.

All this said, we use all our points every year; we've never rented out any reservations for non-members. We take friends or family with us at least every other year.
