what happens if you miss a reservation?

Im so worried I will get to disney and get caught up in all the fun and miss one of our ADR's what happens then?? I know I worry too much! LOL

Nothing as long as it is not a pre-paid reservation (Cinderella's Royal Table, etc)...in that case I think you loose what you have pre-paid.

Sometimes I wonder if they keep track of how many reservation you make, cancel or forget to cancel..........I cancel "most" of the ones we dont make but there were definitely 2 last trip that I forgot about or thought were a different day and did not cancel.......

They keep track of so much other stuff - lol.

Sometimes, even if you are late, you can still get in! This past week, we had gone back to the resort mid day, and had a 4:10 ADR at LTT. To make a long story short, I looked at my watch wrong, and thought it was 3:05, but it was really 4:05!! I tried calling the dining line on the way back to MK, and when I finally got through, they said the could not cancel it since it was already 4:15 at that point, but to just go to the restaurant anyway since there were no more reservations for that day. We finally got there about 4:50 and were seated within 10 minutes!! I was very apologetic, and they seemed very understanding. I know this might not be the case all of the time, but I guess you never know!

I seriously doubt that they would do anything about it even if they were keeping track. Their job is to fill the restaurant and reservations make it much more likely that you'll show up. Besides, ADRs are not really reservations. They are more along the lines of phone ahead that many restaurants offer. If you don't show up, no big deal, they'll just seat the next party. Also, most restraunts turn people away because their wait list is already too long.

It's not just the prepaid reservations - a few restaurants (Akershus and California Grill come to mind) require a credit card guarantee. If you don't cancel and don't show up they will charge you a no-show fee.

If you didn't have to give a credit card number to hold the reservation, it's not a guaranteed one.

We were so late we were moved off the list at Hollywood and Vine. The manager put us back in the que and we were seated in a very reasonable amount of time. Walk ups were being turned away left and right. I was grateful for the ADR (it was also Fantasmic seating) and an understanding manager. Getting from MK to MGM was not so quick and simple after all! If we hadn't had a Fantasmic package I would have just canceled the ressie and eaten CS at MK. We had a good meal at MGM and enjoyed our night there too so I'm glad we went for it!

Seriously...I'm just messin' with ya...nothing happens, no Disney Police. If you can cancel, you should. If not, we all make mistakes. No Disney Police to cart you away. Relax..it's a vacation.

I saw them last May wandering around the pool area at the WL..fighting the ducks for crumbs of food the guests threw in an area marked "do NOT feed ducks"...They looked awfully SKINNY..and HUNGRY!
