I have dinner reservations for my upcoming Land and Sea trip in Nov. We are eating at the Castle, and that is prepaid, so I assume it can't be cancelled (We do not want to cancel it). I was wondering if, by some chance, we missed a dinner reservation what would happen (we are not planning on skipping any). Do they charge you?

Thanks!!!!

You will be charged for it anyhow. ;)

Wow! How do they figure that out if you do not give a credit card, or a room #? I made the Cinderella Table one (no way would my kids miss this one) separate from the others. Is it a percentage of what the meal would be? Or a flat cancelletion fee?

Thanks again!!

I was wondering something about this - did anyone notice that on the disneyworld website they have added the message that no shows will be charged - for all of the restaurants!

Every restaurant has the message -
A cancellation policy applies and may result in charges if you cancel with insufficient notice. Specific policies related to this facility will be detailed at time of reservation booking.

Not just the ones that require deposits.

Oh and by the way, you won't be charged for the whole dinner - I think it's a $25 charge if you are a no show.

i could be wrong, but i'm sure you wouldn't get charged.we are staying off site,so there is no way,we could be traced.all we gave was our name.
if you are planning, not to attend any,it is courteous,to cancel,so someone else, can have the table!
tracy

in order to book crt dont you have to give a credit card? and if you arent on the dining plan dont you have to pay ahead of time? i didnt think there was a no credit card option.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. But she's saying the dinner is prepaid with a package - right? I think that there might be something I'm not understanding.

thats true for most restaurants, but i thought crt and the dinner shows had to be paid upfront.
if you didnt make, lets say chef mickeys, you wont pay a fee.

well if youve already paid for crt, and dont show, they probably arent going to do anything, but you wont get a refund.

Except that even Chef Mickey's has the notice:

on the website now - I don't know how they'd enforce that but I think the message is new to the website so maybe they are going to start trying.

i havent seen that yet, but i dont know how they would enforce that. like another poster said, not everyone gives a cc to the front desk. we dont, we pay cash for everything.

Thanks for the help. I would always cancel if we were not going to show (it is very discourteous not to do so. I do not have a prepaid food plan (on the Land and Sea, you are on your own for the park portion). I was just thinking worse case scenario, if one of my twins got sick or something. We will make every effort to make all of our reservations.

I made a reservation for California Grill on Tuesday. They asked for my CC# and told me that I had up to 48 hours prior to my reservation to cancel. If I was a no-show it was a $25 per person charge.

If you did not have to give your credit card number you cannot and will not be charged for being a no-show. However you really should call to cancel as soon as you know you cannot make it just to be courteous to the rest of us who may want to eat there.

Yes you will be charge. You need 48 hrs to cancel or else you will be charged

Maybe you should call WDW dining to check on your ressie....because as far as I know, the only way to make a res. at CRT is with a credit card.

That's exactly what I was told to.

Are you asking about what happens if you miss an ADR at a restaurant other than CRT? If you do not have to 'hold' your reservation with a credit card there is no penalty for being a 'no show'. An ADR does not mean that a table is held for you at a specific time. An ADR means that when you check in, at the appropriate time, you will be seated at the next available table for your party size. If you do have to give a cc number, then there are different rules that apply, ie how much you will be charge if you are a no show and how far in advance you can cancel and not be charged. I bet you were told these things when you booked CRT but have forgotten. Just call Disney Dining to confirm it and get the details again.

I second this. I assumed OP knew that CRT was pre-paid & had a no refund policy unless you cancel 48 hours out. SOME other restaurants also require a CC to book - I don't know what they all are - it seems to me the only other one we've done was Akershus Princess breakfast & it was a $10/person fee for no-shows (last year), but I KNOW there are more than that! If you didn't have to give them a CC number when you made the ADR, there is no monetary penalty for not showing up.

Enjoy your trip!

With the number of people double booking reservations "just in case" I wish disney would charge EVERYONE who doesn't show up for their reservation. Yeah, there are exceptions. Littly Jimmy feels sick, fine, call the restaurant that day and let them know. Miss the bus, and show up late, no biggie. BUT, have reservations at Jiko, yet eat dinner at Ohanas, I say CHARGE THEM!!!
