We've made it! Our closing date is tomorrow (10/26)!!

First ...YEA!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Now what?

Since our welcome package arrived, the only correspondence we have gotten from DVC was the financing approval letter.

Hubby wants to bring home some champagne for a toast. That sounds good to me! ;)

Will we get some kind of letter from DVC stating that we are official? We haven't gotten our permanent DVC member cards, perhaps it will happen then?

Thanks for all input!

S

If you purchased from Disney, you are official when the documents are received by them. If you are doing resale, I would check to see when you are in the computer as members under your member number.

Oh, and....
WELCOME HOME~!!

Yes, we bought direct from Disney. So I guess we are official!

It would be nice to get a little something from them. Even just a pin would make me happy!

Thanks

You will get some welcoming gifts eventually, but don't hold your breath, because they take a LONG time!

Actually....we received a letter from DVC about two weeks after our closing stating that we had indeed closed. This was back in mid-September. We have as yet not received our deed, although from what I have seen on the boards this is not out of the ordinary.

Our permanent member cards arrived in a separate mailing. When I tried signing up for the member exclusive e-mails immediately upon receiving our closing letter, I was repeatedly receiving a message stating that the Member ID was inactive. I called MS and they told me that it could take 2-4 weeks before the system actually recognizes your ID.

From what I understand, however, you can still go ahead and make reservations immediately. Must be two different systems.

You will then receive a gift package in an additional mailing. Nothing specatcular here, so don't get your hopes up.

I just went through the exact same thing as you, just a couple of weeks ahead of time. I just recieved in the mail last Friday, an official announcement that they recorded our deed and with this announcement, 2 official member cards! It was pretty exciting to have it all done. You will be getting the same very soon. Congratulations!
Sheryl, I just emailed you. :D

So good to hear some recognition is made of the closing!

We will just celebrate on our own tomorrow with that bottle of champagne! ;)

Jillpie - got your e-mail and will be responding shortly!

UPDATE :

We did receive something from DVC today...

The Annual Dues Statement telling us how much money they will be taking out of my checkbook on 12/1/02.

I guess we are official...

sheryl,

Welcome home! you should also receive, in a separate mailing, a bill for your prorated maintenance fees. We closed on Oct. 2, received a statement acknowledging our closing, a separate mailing with our member cards, and just today (Oct. 26) we received not 1, but 2 bills for our prorated dues (this doesn't mean we have to pay them twice, does it? LOL). We also received our confirmation letter for our first stay next June(at the same time our member cards came).
Didn't you get anything with your welcome packet? We got a backpack, Mickey luggage tag and BCV lithograph. Anyway, congratulations and again, welcome home!:Pinkbounc

Sheri

Hi - yes we did receive the backpack, luggage tag & lithograph with the welcome pack. I guess I am just being greedy with wanting an acknowledgement for the closing too.

We have received confirmations for both of our booked trips (Nov & May) in the mail too.

I am starting to feel like we have “come home!” :)

Sheryl--

We are probably just a little ahead of you with our purchase. Last week, we received our "official" member cards and the letter accompanying that acknowledged the closing.

Welcome Home!

CONGRADULATIONS & WELCOME HOME!!!!!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc We closed on October 9, and we received our letter telling us that and our official membership cards last Saturday October 19. We also received our prorated dues statement for 2002 yesturday. One day when I had to call there for something I did ask about when we would receive our deed, and they told me it takes approximently 3 months to get it.

Well, we are very happy for you,
Michele

Sheryl,

If you got all those goodies, I think the celebration is definitely in order! You could probably call Member Services tomorrow and give them your name and find out if you are in the system....and get your ID number.

Have fun...and Welcome Home.

All the best,
SHontell
