What happened to TLC?

A friend emailed me that they changed the way company does business overnight leaving lots of consultants in the lurch?
Anyone else hear this?

yeah i heard about that a lady in MN was trying to get me to join as a consultant because she said it's going to be waaaay different.
This the last e-mail she sent me:
The option for joining when they change the kit just won't have all the coupons, etc- it's more like a starter fee than a starter kit. And the website option won't be grandfathered in for life- it'll just be paying an annual subscription fee but getting the discount. So you can still get the discount, just not the better deal when joining.

I am (I guess "was") a TLC consultant. They sent an email to everyone last Friday that effective immediately they are no longer a consultant based business. They are basically turning into an internet-only business that you have to pay an annual membership to and will receive a 25% (or more depending on level of membership you choose) discount on their products. It doesn't really affect me at all because I was just getting my product for a discount - I wasn't hosting parties or trying to make money off of it. I just feel really bad for the consultants for whom this was their job and a way of making a living. I just thought it was really nasty to send an email like that out on a Friday afternoon with absolutely no warning or implication that something like this was happening.

OMG!!!! A product line that Buffy is not familiar with? Tell me it isn't so!!!!

TLC stands for Top Line Creations. ( I think) they were a scrapbook company much the way of Creative Memories and CTMH. They had some really neat Scrapbook page kits. Lots of Prima Flowers etc.

I'm with Michelle, what they did was terrible. But this country isn't in a
"recession" Oh my no!

LOL!!! I was trying to figure out what TLC was all day... All I came up with was The Learning Channel.. I knew that was way off!

literal LOL - my husband asked me what was so funny. After reading him this thread , he said that must be the case - I keep my Stampin Up Demo status all by my orders alone!
