What happened to the Search feature?

I was just wondering about that too. I tried looking at someones past posts when trying to play the "tell us about the person above you" thread and I got this message:
Searching has been disabled.

Why?

wow I can't even look up my own posts!!! thats how I would remember what threads I wanted to go back to with out doing a subscription!!!

The search feature uses up a lot of server resources. I imagine the loss of the search function may help with the "server busy" issues that have resurfaced. Just my guess.

Two features I loved are missing.

1. New Post- Although it was 20 pages long, that was the easiest way to find out what's happening.

2. Search- Like many others I would search my own post for a topic to check replies.

I should know better. The techs do a wonderful job on these boards and there are always some little glitches that they work with to make it better. I remember about 2 years ago, when the search feature was down for awhile.

I just felt so stupid that I couldn't find it.

I would think the Search feature would cut out the number of redundant posts because with a few key words, most people could find a wealth of information here on every Disney topic.

Now, new posters will just keep posting question that have been asked-answered a million times. I think the redundant posting will have a far greater affect on "board performance" than the use of the search function.

It's there, but it's disabled. I also assume, like TC, that it's temporary until the server problems are worked out.

ok I thought I was going crazy for a minute. I've been noticing some problems lately too. I was on the restaurant board and noticed quoted posts have disappeared (in older threads). I'm assuming this is also from the server issues or am I really going crazy?
