my family and I were down in WDW from April 26 through May 1 and did not hear the music and announcement played on the busses as you arrive at the MK. They had a bland announcement about return busses. When did they stop playing this and is it permanent? Can't find anything on Internet about it.

I kinda thought they just stopped working. It seems like on my last trip very few of the buses played it, but some of them still did. Usually I get a buss where the audio system doesn't work at all. I don't know if it is purposeful or neglect, or purposeful neglect. I always enjoyed the arrival music though.

We were there this past February and were told by the driver that most of the buses had audio equipment that had failed and they had no plans to fix them. He said he gets questioned about the lack of music multiple times each day. We actually had one bus this past trip that had the music. One out of how many?

Plus the music used to change as you passed the various resorts. Port Orleans French Quarter had jazz, Riverside was a little more country. Pity

Awful to see this still happening. Went in October and experienced the same thing no audio about the park information or anything. We only heard it one time going to MK out of the 6 days being there.

We haven't been to WDW in almost 2 years... You mean no more voice saying Welcome to the Magic Kingdom when you pull in??? That was one of my favorite parts :(

What about Pop buses, do they still play retro music ??

I missed the music too this trip. I look forward to both MK and AK music when you arrive and both did not happen this trip. :(

I really miss the bus music. :(. It's one of those subtle touches that adds a little to the magic

It's a small thing, but honestly one of my favorite parts of Disney. I'm very connected to memories through music, as many people seem to be. I'm so sad to hear this.

I too, missed the music on my last trip 4/9-4/20. It is a little thing but it's something that I always have enjoyed on past trips!

Glad to hear people feel the same as I do. It's the little touches that make Disney great and I hate to see them forgotten by Disney management

What about the other music that plays as you enter the other parks? Love all of the parks. Usic that comes on, and Epcot is my favorite - the music from Imagination plays!

It was all working in November when I went, the whole 10 days. I also love that little added touch. I hope they didn't scratch it altogether!!

My DS noticed that the announcer was a different voice. Also, the announcer would wish happy birthday, etc.

Just got back from a trip 4/30-5/9 and the music didn't work on ANY of the buses to any parks! We really missed it. The voiceover is boring and not magical at all. This only added to our bus experience on this trip... On both ways on DME, we were on drab Mears buses where the videos didn't work. So disappointing!!!!

The music and spiels are still there, when the computer and sound system are working. But they rerecorded and "updated" the spiels (for the first time in 9 years), and the new arrival spiels do not include the burst of music ("MMC March", "Imagination", "Hooray for Hollywood", and the music from the Safari.) They also genericized the language in the arrival spiels, making it less park specific.

I put "updated" in quotes because they did a really poor job of updating the middle spiels, IMHO. The middle spiels are the ones that play when you're 5 minutes away from arriving at the park, which had been discontinued for some parks years ago because they had become so obsolete. In the new ones, they changed "Fastpass" to "Fastpass Plus", but didn't change the description, so it now makes little sense. They talk about attractions that were scheduled to be removed shortly after the update: Soarin' "direct from California Adventure" on the Epcot middle spiel, and "Lights, Motors, Action" in the DHS spiel. They've already discontinued the DHS spiel again. And nothing was said about new attractions that had already been announced at the time of the update -- probably because they intend not to update them again for another 9 years.
