What happened to Pool activities?

I stayed at POP in June and was disappointed to learn that the pool activities that the kids have grown to love are GONE! Two years ago we stayed at ALL Stars and loved the dance contest, Beach Ball Blast, etc. and my nephew still talks about the cannonball contest at POP five years ago. Is it really all about the econonmy? Sad! Sad! All we got on our last trip was a few hula hoops thrown on the side and some Jenga blocks

I'm not sure about the Values, but all the regular pool activities (Bingo, Disney Trivia, dancing, t-shirt tie dying, etc.) are still going on daily at the Deluxe resorts (we stayed at AKV & BCV in June).

That is a shame if they have been discontinued at the Values. Did you ask for an Activity sheet at the front desk?

The front desk told us all the activities are posted on the chalkboard at the pool. There was no chalkboard(as per the lifeguards) and no activities!

They still do a whole afternoon's worth of activities at the Poly, complete with annoying Hannah Montana music in the background.

They were still going on at Music as of 7/31.

We played Bingo and Trivia AND did a dance party at ASMovies in late May! And there were lots of other activities that we just missed out on. Maybe they just weren't doing it that week for one reason or another... Or maybe Pop just doesn't do it!

I didn't think the Pop ever had scheduled activities as they do at the All Stars.

We did a lot of resort hopping (meaning staying at different places) and talked with one of the activities directors. She said they were rolling out a new poolside activitiy program and that they were going to implement it at all the resorts eventually. Not sure if and when that will happen, but it was sad that they did not have them at POFQ either, they were a blast for the kids.

Not sure if and when that will happen, but it was sad that they did not have them at POFQ either, they were a blast for the kids.

Activities is one thing, but if this new plan includes loud pool side "music" I for one will be disappointed.

Pop don't have activites so that could be part of the reason. All 3 of the all starts have them.

That is the problem things come and go. We stayed in 2009 and 2010 and there was nothing.

That would be nice. My parents just came back a couple of weeks ago from POFQ and they had just started them there also.

We were at POFQ last week. The pool games were great! I even played the beach ball toss! We also enjoyed the nightly campfire and nightly movie.
