What happened to Gia on GH

What ever happened to the original Gia on General Hospital? I really liked the old one. The new one is way to different.

She is on the new ABC show "Miracles" - at least I think that's the name of the show. I definitely do not like the new one!!

<font color=navy>Gia happens to be my cousin... Hmmmm, I think she would be my cousin twice removed? (I don't know how that works) But, her mom & my dad are first cousins .... and, no, I've never met her although I do know her mom. Anyways, in her last Christmas letter to us, her mom said that our cousin left the show to pursue her career, and to look for her on prime time.

(Oh, and this really has nothing to do with "Gia" but her mom used to be a belly dancer in her youth - I think she's in her 70's now, and she is a real hoot.)
