I saw on the web cam that the Dream went into Nassau for a short time tonite, saw red lights on the dock, then the Dream left, was in port about 2 hours
Maybe weather? What's the weather report for Nassau?I saw on the web cam that the Dream went into Nassau for a short time tonite, saw red lights on the dock, then the Dream left, was in port about 2 hours
Sounds like a medical issue
My daughter was on the Majesty Of the Sea which was docked at Nassau and the Dream pulled up next to their ship and they watched from the top deck of the Majesty Of the Sea as an ambulance took someone off the Dream
I completely agree! Always get insurance, always have passports. Once had a trip planned to Branson, got insurance thru travel agent, week before, wife broke foot, got airline ticket money back without any problems. It's a small price to pay! This is one of those perfect cases where "everyone is healthy, no need for trip insurance" and "they are just kids, they won't use their passports, they don't need them, and they are expensive" are not good. I hope this family has their passports so they can fly home and I hope they have trip insurance to pay for it. I cannot imagine having a hurt child and then compounding it with uncovered medical bills, hotel stays, flights home AND dealing with a consulate to rush passport papers through so we can go home.

Something like this depending on the situation Disney might foot the bill, even for just good PR.This is one of those perfect cases where "everyone is healthy, no need for trip insurance" and "they are just kids, they won't use their passports, they don't need them, and they are expensive" are not good. Don't count on that. It's far better to have trip insurance and a passport then to think a cruise line will pick up the bill for you in a foreign port. They may have someone assigned to help you make alternate arrangements but they probably wouldn't pay for much.Something like this depending on the situation Disney might foot the bill, even for just good PR.
I never said to not have insurance.Don't count on that. It's far better to have trip insurance and a passport then to think a cruise line will pick up the bill for you in a foreign port. They may have someone assigned to help you make alternate arrangements but they probably wouldn't pay for much.
I know I was just saying it as more of a general statement to not except Disney or any cruise line to cover your expenses in a port due to a medical emergency.I never said to not have insurance.
