I saw on the web cam that the Dream went into Nassau for a short time tonite, saw red lights on the dock, then the Dream left, was in port about 2 hours

Maybe weather? What's the weather report for Nassau?

I know we had extremely bad storms in WDW the last couple of days.

I believe the Dream was due in Castaway Cay today, not Nassau. If she called at Nassau, maybe it was a medical issue.

it wasn't weather, there are 2 others in port, it was in CC earlier, the 2 ships are still in port, my daughter is on one of them, Majesty of the sea, I think is was a med problem

Sounds like a medical issue

My daughter was on the Majesty Of the Sea which was docked at Nassau and the Dream pulled up next to their ship and they watched from the top deck of the Majesty Of the Sea as an ambulance took someone off the Dream

Hope the person that was taken off the ship and transfered to the ambulance is ok. Pretty scary to be out of the country on a cruise and have something happen.

It was a medical issue. I was on the Dream during that cruise. Child tripped down the stairs from the Aquaduck as we were leaving Castaway Cay and got a concussion. They sounded the brightstar call over the ships announce system. We booked it to Nassau to drop him off. Headed back out to sea for the evening and back to port the nest morning. We had Dinner in Animators Palate that evening and you could really feel the vibration of the engines working that evening to get us there!

Hope the child is okay. Very scary in a foreign port.

Thanks for the info figured it was a med issue, saw the red lights on the web cam and my dd was on the ship Majesty Of the Sea docked next to the Dream and saw from the top deck

This is one of those perfect cases where "everyone is healthy, no need for trip insurance" and "they are just kids, they won't use their passports, they don't need them, and they are expensive" are not good. I hope this family has their passports so they can fly home and I hope they have trip insurance to pay for it. I cannot imagine having a hurt child and then compounding it with uncovered medical bills, hotel stays, flights home AND dealing with a consulate to rush passport papers through so we can go home.

I completely agree! Always get insurance, always have passports. Once had a trip planned to Branson, got insurance thru travel agent, week before, wife broke foot, got airline ticket money back without any problems. It's a small price to pay!

Yep, it never happens to you. Until it happens to you.

Something like this depending on the situation Disney might foot the bill, even for just good PR.

Don't count on that. It's far better to have trip insurance and a passport then to think a cruise line will pick up the bill for you in a foreign port. They may have someone assigned to help you make alternate arrangements but they probably wouldn't pay for much.

I never said to not have insurance.
