We'll be staying at the Poly and not on the dining plan. We'll have 2 lil' ones with us (2 1/2 and almost 4) and I'd like to get some breakfast-y type things and snacks, water delivered to the room from We Go Shop. We DO plan to do 2-3 character breakfasts but the other days (we're going 8nts) I'd like to just have quick things in the room to eat and not waste much time on going to breakfast.

So I'm curious to find out what others have gotten to have in their rooms that are good breakfast items and also what types of snack you recommend that are relatively portable and preschool-age friendly. They do eat tons of fruit and I don't want to pay Disney prices for fruit so I'm thinking of ordering some grapes, maybe oranges or apples. Any ideas??

When we made our first family trip to the Poly in 12/07, I UPS'd down a box filled with breakfasty type stuff. I did little single serving cereals, dole fruit cups, juice boxes, milk boxes, goldfish crackers and granola bars. They brought the box right to our room after we checked in, and then I used it to ship laundry home so we would have more room for souveniers.

We're going to ASMu in September and I'll probably do the same thing.

For snacks, I'm taking Welch's dried fruit packets, pb crackers, slim jims (good portable protien), raisins. We'll have crackers, pb, cheese, pepperoni, rice crispy treats, and microwave popcorn for snacking in the condo.

We can cook in our condo, but for hotel stays we have done muffins, milk and cereal, fresh fruit, cheese and crackers, juice boxes, and cinnamon bread (some of that doubles as snacks toward the end of the week. If you have access to a microwave, you can order oatmeal and pre-cooked bacon.

You should be able to order a cheap cooler with your groceries and discard it on your way out. The plain styrofoam ones run less than $5 and negate the need for a fridge if the Poly doesn't give you a fridge in your room.

This is what our list usually includes:

muffins, fruit snacks, cheeri-o's, granola bars, goldfish, bite sized donuts, trail mix, portable fruit of some sort.

If you're just getting breakfast foods and snacks the delivery charge from We Go Shop may not be worth it. The resorts normally have a small supply of foods including cereal, milk, english muffins, and snack. Even though the prices may be a little higher it may still be cheaper than having it delivered. I pack a box of cereal, bagels, cereal bars, and snacks in my suitcase.

Here is what we get when we do breakfast in our room:

Milk
Water
Cereal
Doughnuts (we spluge when we are at Disney!)
Granola Bars
Bananas:banana:

Having breakfast in the room is a great way to save time and money!

I kind of wondered that - b/c we won't be eating a TON in the room but my biggest "thing" is the water. I don't want to pay Disney pricing to get bottled water in the parks, etc and don't want to pay to ship it. So water is actually my biggest reason for using We Go Shop. Does anyone deliver water for free?? I heard rumors about Costco.

I can't help you with breakfast food but we are getting water, soda, juice boxes, diapers, wipes, laundry detergent, cheeze its, goldfish, fruit snacks and cookies sent from garden grocers

Our staples are normally eggs, english muffins, entemans chocolate donuts, peanut butter, jelly, cheesesticks, fruit cups, coffee, creamer, millk, cereal, case of water, case of soda, and BEER. :thumbsup2

I checked them out but their selection is so limited on certain things and their prices are inflated quite a bit considering they also charge a delivery fee. But I think the key is to make a list of exactly what I'd want to get and price it out on there first. Thanks!

yeah some of the stuff is expensive but we will go through the drinks like crazy so it does save some money. I remember paying crazy money for a soda out of a vending machine last time I went. Maybe it would be cheaper for you to just ups some stuff down
