What gift are you excited to give this year?

For my dd..We're planning a Make A Wish trip..she thinks it's for 2011 (I've always told her we'd go when she's 10), and I'm surprising her with the dates Christmas morning, it's actually going to be March..I have a package all ready with a letter from Mickey with the dates, a Mickey & Minnie snowglobe, stuffed Mickey, and countdown calendar and customized maps!! Also a zhu zhu and accessories..she thinks we've been buying the accessories for her cousin! (And thanks to a very special Dis'er for the pet!) And last but not least..she thinks she's getting a Wii from me, but my mom actually decided to get one for her and her cousin, so they're at Gram's...she's prob going to be ticked here at our house when it isn't under the tree..which should make the reaction when she opens it at Gram's priceless! She's had a rough year, and I know this Christmas is going to be so special for her, it almost makes me cry just thinking about it, so I know I'm going to be a mess Christmas morning!

How fun! I hope they love them. You may not after you've cleaned the cage a few times.

Ha, ha! :rotfl: I don´t think it will be any worse than the rabbits we once had.

I have a few things that I am very excited to see my mom open on Christmas Morning.

1. The Photocalendar I made her with photos from our disney trip this past September (Thanks to the great diser's here for posting a code for money off at walgreen's)

2. The Twilight shirt I bought her. As we were leaving New Moon one day she turned to me and declared herself Team Jacob because that's the kind of boy every girl deserves :lmao: and then she asked me if the had Team Jacob tees like my Team Edward tee. So I went to hot topic and got her one. The guy who rang me out was dying when i told him the story.

3. The Santa Sock Monkey Nightgown I got at Target. Her favorite toy as a child was a sock monkey.

4 And last but not least the digital camera she saw in the Black friday ad at target. I have her believing that they were sold out when I was there when in fact it was the first thing I picked up.

Wow, some of these post brought tears to my eyes. I guess I am most excited to be giving all three of my children laptops this year. They are constantly fighting for computer time so this should help a lot. My big surprise for all of the kids is a Wii and a few games. They have no clue, they have not even asked for it because they want the laptops more, that's all that I hear. I can't wait to see what they say. :santa:

Mine isnt anything that big, but our 2yo DD is really excited about Christmas this year and has been asking for a Disney Princess Musical Vanity ever since she first saw it. I got it for her (along with many other things) but I cannot wait to see her face when she sees the box! She is going to be so excited! :goodvibes

My dad died in a military accident when my brother was just 2 weeks old. He's always been very interested in finding connections to my dad, but hasn't found many. Earlier this week I managed to make contact with a man who served with my dad. He is sending me pictures and stories.

Then, last night, I found a rare edition book that is 488 pages long. There are 2 paragraphs in this huge book that mention the details of my dad's death. The book sells for $150 if you can find a copy. I got on ebay and they had only one and the auction lasted for only 20 more minutes. I got it for $35!!!! Perfect timing! I am going to put a bookmark on the page about my dad and tell my brother to start reading there.

I can't wait to put the book, pictures, and stories together for him. I also found a message from the co-pilot that day that gives even more details. I don't know if I'll have everything together by Christmas, but I'm going to do as much as possible.

You gave me chills - that is one of the most amazing presents I've heard of! What a great sis you are! These are mine:

1. For mom and dad - my parents have really wanted a picture of my son with my niece and nephew, i.e., all grandkids together. What they don't know is we did professional photos in August when my sister and family came to visit and we did some 11 by 14 framed prints for over their fireplace
2. For 2 year old DS - a kitchen because he loves my cooking utensils; a Dancing Mickey because he LOVES the "hot dog dance"
3. for dh - an hdtv and an old fashion popcorn popper like you see at carnivals - he wanted one for our furnished basement.

I am excited about them all but I think my son will be the funniest gift to recieve. I bought him the Ipod Touch...but...

as they say, when they get older (he is 11) the gifts get more expensive and smaller so he was looking at the bigger gifts I was wrapping for his brother (9 months) and kept asking, "is that mine"? I said no, your gifts are smaller and more expensive.

So...

what I did was wrap the Ipod, then box it, wrap that, box it again, wrap and box it again and then wrap! This way he gets to open a big box too! :santa:

For my DS14, I think he'll be surprised when he gets his T-top gaskets. :confused3 Doesn't sound like a great gift to me, but he's been wanting these for a couple months since the t-tops on his car leaks

For my DS12, I think he'll be excited to see his BB rifle. I told him NO WAY JOSE but ended up getting it. I did get him a couple things that were NOT on his list....a camera case for his camcorder and 2 of the Diary of a Whimpy Kid books. He has the first two and I bought the last two. He's gonna freak on those. LOL

 Seriously???? A 14 year old with a car?

In PA you can't even get a learner's permit until the age of 16.

I love this thread!!! Giving is the best!!!! I am so excited to give my dad tickets to a mystery theatre near us. We went to the Sleuth dinner show in Orlando during one of our Disney trips and we all had so much fun. Anytime we see a theatre in the area he wants to try it but they are either too far away or require a certain number of people. He had NO idea about this one and will be so excited when he finds out we have tickets for the whole family!

Sorry, I probably should have explained....my son has always been interested in cars. Last year he bought his first car for $250 (from money he saved from birthdays, Christmases, mowing lawns, etc) It ran and my DH registered it but it was mostly a project car. My son bought parts for the car and fixed it up himself. Well, earlier this year he sold it for $900 ($650 profit) because he wanted a Trans-Am with T-tops. So with his $900 and a little help from DH, he bought his Trans-Am. Again, this car is registered (DH is the one that drives it) but the car does need some work (it's an '88) So for Christmas he asked for T-top gaskets and a car cover.

This IS HIS car and he'll be working on it between now and when he gets his license. Here, you can get your permit when you're 15. He can't wait. But in the meantime, DH lets him drive it around the property to learn how to drive a stick shift and I have to say he does very well.

WOW, I'm very impressed with your son. An entrepreneur in his early teens! :cool2: How wonderful that you're able to encourage his talent. :thumbsup2
