No this isn't a blue thread ;), but I was curious about something. When I get down or feel bleh, I like to watch a Disney-related documentary or special to pick up my spirits by thinking of my next trip "home". :goodvibes A couple of my favorites are the "Samantha Brown Christmas Special" that she did for the Travel Channel and "Modern Marvels" on the History Channel that spends two hours talking about the history of WDW. Am I the only one that does this? If not, what are some of your all-time favorites that are regulars on your DVR?

I don't have a DVR:scared1:I know..shocking!! LOL But when I'm down about something and I need a pick me up..I either come to the boards, YouTube and watch the rides and parades, or read some of the Celebration magazines I have!! Those always seem to do the trick!!

But if it's REALLY bad...I have to go to the DIsney store at the Mall!!! Speaking of that..I need to go..haven't been inawhile!! LOL:rotfl2::lmao:

This actually gets me MORE depressed! This may all change when the new "re-imagined" stores open, but over the last few years, Disney Stores to me have been overrun with Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers merchandise, and nothing at all that makes one feel like they are at a merchandise shop at the resort. It's a lot of wasted potential, but like I said, I hope this all changes.

I have the Pixar Story in my DVR that I watch, also UnWrapped at Disney World and I have the DVD of the Modern Marvels show and a documentary about Walt DVD, bu the big thing I watch when I'm a little blue is The West Wing, I have the DVD box set of the whole series. There are days I could lay down on my couch and watch it all day long.

I love watching the Disney Christmas shows. I recently purchased a six DVD box set of Disney World, Disneyland, and DCL behind the scenes shows. It's basically a Disney sales pitch, but I like it just the same because I'm not down in WDW every week.

Videos, always a sucker fir a video. Im a visual guy, like to see pics and media, really gives me the urge to get to the world!

I have those Travel Channel shows recorded, but I find myself listening to my Disney music library playlist on my iPod as I need my Disney "fix".

Ok..this may seem odd, but this is what I do when I am felling bleh and missing WDW.
I take a shower and use the soaps and shampoo I "got" from my past stays. The smell just takes me right back. :cloud9:

I also watch the Travel Channel specials. A LOT!

We have all of those on our DVR and thank goodness we don't use VHS tapes anymore or we would have worn them out by now. :rotfl2:

When I am having the I-miss-Disney blues, I either pop in and gorge myslef on trip reports, or put on a DVD, Lilo and Stitch always cheers me up, Beauty and the Beast or the Lion King if I want something more musical.

I like to watch other people's trips on youtube and/or get out our old vacation tapes. I also found a couple of channels on YT that have disney park music. : D

-Watching one (or two) of the many WDW shows on my DVR.

-Disboards.

-Listening to one of my many WDW CDs.

-Looking through my latest "Unofficial Guide to WDW".

You had me there for a second Bill. I didn't suspect as that "type" of guy!

What gets me in the mood? Anything Samantha Brown for certain along with any of the other Disney specials on the Travel Channel. When I use to have Cablevision as my cable provider, I had an on-demand Disney Travel Channel. Loved watching the fact/fiction programs they had.

Right now, the craziness at work is making want to escape for a few days. I am toying with the idea of a last minute trip.

I am right there with you. :thumbsup2 I would love to be able to just hop on a plane and get a few days of Disney "therapy". :goodvibes

Planning DVDs, going through my old footage or photos, or just watching a bootleg of a park walkthrough.

Oh, and costume planning, no matter how far out the trip is. That always helps.
