What gets me most is the hypocrites on this board

I never thought I would say, or even think this, but I'm glad we don't have a trip coming up soon. Tentatively planning one in May, but if this hasn't been worked out yet, London or Dublin is looking really good.

I'm no apologist, but I just don't see why people are making mountains out of molehills.. You don't NEED to preplan.. you can use MDE or a kiosk at the parks and reserve a FP+ while there. It's not forcing you to do anything 60 days out.. It's just available 60 days out.

I imagine if you try to do FP plus when you arrive you won't have many choices

None taken, and none meant in return. Since your trip is before the full roll out then just take a deep breath and go with the flow. What else are you going to do? Getting all worked up about it will only affect you, your family and your vacation. The system is what it is, it is the way we choose to deal with it that is causing the problems. Learn all you can, make the most of it and have a great time. That's what I plan to do on my trip next week.

We are going in 2 weeks and we decided to just go with the flow and not stress whatever's meant to be will be

While I haven't yet had the chance to try the new system, will be there in November, I can say that for my family I think it will work to our advantage. It just flows well with the way we do WDW already.

First of all we usually know which park we will be in on each day based on our ADRs and since we don't typically park hop. We are not rope drop people, we actually enjoy sleeping in a bit on vacation, so this will allow us better access to get that Soarin or TSM FP that we sometimes miss out on by not being at the parks at rope drop.

I'll withhold judgment until the system is fully implemented and I've had the chance to actually try it.

We are going November as well ready to take on the new system changes

You're absolutely correct. Legacy FP is not going away. Enjoy using it in the future. Feel free to reply with as many personal insults as you want. It won't bother me because a) I have thick skin and b) this thread has degenerated to the point that I don't plan to read any more of it. Have a magical day.

from Merriam-Webster:
sar·casm
noun \Èsär-Ìka-zYm\
: the use of words that mean the opposite [emphasis mine] of what you really want to say especially in order to insult someone, to show irritation, or to be funny.

You sure were thick headed when you were throwing the insults around... now you wanna play sticks and stones..
Bottom line is in four weeks I'll be enjoying myself in wdw fp or none. You'll still be here swimming in sour grapes... btw congratulations on learning how to copy and paste! Good for you!

These bands are making the lines super long. They rarely work without a hassle and this annoys everyone in line.
Disagree. Lines look long but move quickly. Love the bands. They make park touring easy.

The problem is that WDW is just too crowded. They need to increase the prices .

Increase the prices? How on earth will that help besides take out people struggling to afford a WDW vacation.. That can only benefit the wealthy. Im not for that idea

I agree. Lines look long but move fast then you think. I never wait as long as I'm quoted. HM seems to always say 30 when I'm there. I swear I've never waited more than 20 usually 10. When I rode soarin w/o FP it said 60 and I got in within 40 to the ride and those games made that time pass fast because I was having fun and my kid loved it. If they could make more lines a little more interactive or more fun to look through waiting wouldn't be bad at all.

Just an idea ;)

Don't you love the backwards thinking of the rich?

There's hope after all!

We are going in 11 days, I'll be sure to come back and let you know our experience with FP+ and MB!

And I 4 days!!!!!!! I can't wait to hear how it went, and I will let you know mine as well :)

As of now, we'll be gone for 4 days, and I have 3 of the 4 days scheduled with FP+. We were not avid FP users before though, so the simple fact that I have FPs for certain rides already scheduled, thrills me to death.

Read any of the numerous threads about fastpass return times over the last few days.

My apologies for the late reply. So then, your OPINION is based on anecdotal evidence. While I certainly would never tell somebody their opinion is wrong, I would caution you about basing your opinion on the opinions of others. Especially when that opinion is based on personal reports from a time period where there was some factual evidence (based on the accounts of those who allegedly spoke to Disney managers) of problems or failures within the FP system.

The FACT does still remain that until the system is fully rolled out with all the details that Disney intends for the final system, we do NOT know what the end result will be.

It's incredible how people figure out how to scam a system in place instead of using it for what it's intended for. That's why they did what they did for their ADR's so give Disney time they will fix that , too.

Overbooking ADRs isn't a scam. When you're dealing with the amount of crowds that Disney does, it's not uncommon for people do overbook to ensure they have flexibility in their plans. I've read post after post in this thread where people are complaining about having to tie themselves to plans so far in advance. It's that situation that leads to overbooking. You overbook to give yourself desired options while trying to maximize flexibility. Adding the Credit Card guarantee doesn't prevent bookings beyond a very small scale. What it does is ensure that no Table Service restaurant has a missed ADR without some profit and otherwise guarantees most will cancel with enough advance for others to pick up the available booking.

LOL.. Just because you CAN, doesn't mean you SHOULD. Whether they're telling you to or not.

Why does one person/family need to ride TSM 4 times in a day? While another 3 families aren't getting to ride it at all?

The only thing causing those three families not to ride is the wait time. If they aren't willing to wait, that indicates that the value of the ride does not match the cost in the wait time. In that case, it wasn't important enough to them. But one person or one family riding four times doesn't equate to 3 other families not getting to ride or not choosing to ride. Assuming families of four, the three additional ride cars (2+2) won't be enough of an impact to prevent three families from having the opportunity to ride.

Overbooking ADRs isn't a scam.

I wouldn't call it a scam either. But it is not allowed by Disney. If you try to book two dining reservations for the same people at the same time, it makes you cancel one.

The only way to book two at the same time, is to use a separate email address. you have to figure out a way to do it.

So while I wouldn't say it's a scam, it is going around the system as intended.
