What gets me most is the hypocrites on this board

Exactly, especially when in all reality the ride is not that great. It's a rehash of Buzz's Ranger Spin. We've gone on TSM one time since it opened in it's first year after waiting almost 2 hours WITH A Fast Pass(Old days multiple break downs) We never went back on it in 10 or so subsequent visits. It's not really a good ride. I can see the attractiveness of it though, due to the Toy Story characters.

Oh so you're the one who doesn't like TSM :rotfl2: :lmao:

What I don't understand about some comments here is - why can't you ride TSM at least once without indicating that it is not fair that someone else rode it 4 times? All you have to do is plan to be there early enough in the day to get a FP like the rest of us I don't like to get up at the crack of dawn on my vacation. You do it your way, I'll do it my way. Which is why I don't go on TSM and some of those other rides. Because I don't get there in time. I'm ok with it. I've never complained about it. I'm not saying "it's not fair". People are completely missing the point. DISNEY is the one that has decided it's not fair. And they have tried to make it more equitable for everyone with this new system by only allowing 3. I'm sorry that sucks for some people. For me it's great. Which is why I'm saying that double dipping isn't allowing a fair assessment of how FP+ will be in the future. That's all. and plan to go get another and plan to ride while Fantasmic is showing, etc. It's not that hard to do. We (my family) are not experts and we figured out how the crowds work, how the FP machines work pretty quickly.

Basically, you choose what is priority for you when you visit and you plan around it. It is that simple. It is not cheating anyone else out of the same experience, they can do the same. We sacrifice breakfast, Not something I'm willing to do. But again… not complaining. strolling around first thing, etc. Those of us who use more than 3 FP in a days time just have different priorities. This same concept applies to anything we (my family) does in life including other theme parks, other vacations, even weekly grocery shopping.

The same people who complain about those who "manipulate" the current FP system are going to complain when those same people figure out FP+ as well - which is what we are seeing and hearing complaints about right now on this thread during the testing phase.

I will not complain when you figure out how to manipulate FP+. Because I didn't complain before. I chalked it up to people being there super early and making that their priority. I chose not to do that. My priority was just relaxing and having fun, regardless of what we did.

How long do you think these lines are gonna get? I mean be reasonable. I lived in a Disney World without Fastpass at all. I made it thru just fine and loved it.

What would happen if Disney took away Fastpass all together????

You all are acting like children. You want more and more. It's the most cliche statement I know but if it bothers you that much waiting in a 20 minute extra line complain to Disney so they know what people don't or do like to improve it or don't go on that ride or don't go to Disney at all.

I mean really. Smh.

very good post. I go to amusement parks close to home that don't have anything like Fastpass. You want to ride, you wait in a line..sometimes a long one. :confused3

While I like Fastpass and use it, I am also aware that they don't have to provide it.

Thank you for your report and it's good to hear that at least some CMs are "enforcing" the new FP+ system the way it's meant to be implemented, to give everyone a fair chance.

They weren't enforcing the new system. The OP of that post was trying to literally use their MB to get a paper FP. They obviously didn't already know how to use the paper FP system or else they would have stuck their room key into the machine and received a paper FP.

I wouldn't go around applauding the CM when they were just stating the obvious to that person and rolling their eyes on the inside.

My MIL tried to do the same thing BTW but she has no excuse because she knows how to pull a paper FP. And FWIW, she did a weeks trip with just the 3 FP+ and never double dipped and she was able to ride everything with very minimal waits even though it was very busy in the parks this past week.

If they didn't we wouldn't go, that simple. I go to an amusement park near our place too, its $25/ticket. The lines are generally small, but can get longer during peak season. Of course, for $60 you can skip all the lines all day.

I don't pay Thousands and thousands of dollars to go to Disney to stand in line. Sure there are lots of other things Disney offers which are also attractive, but if you took away the rides, we wouldn't go, and if you make us stand in line for 45mins+ for every ride, you might as well get rid of them, we have no interest in that.

You are quoting something from a completely different thread. IF that was in fact the case, I didn't read it that way. Or maybe that was pointed out later. Your last statement about your mother in law confirms and reaffirms everything I have been saying about FP+. So thanks. ;)

Eta. Actually I have no idea where that post/thread is. I can't keep all the complaining straight anymore. Lol

Would it be any different if I wanted to ride Carousel of Progress 4 times?
:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. Just trying to lighten the mood.

I just quoted you from where you were quoting that person who tried to get FPs with her MB. Not sure how that's another thread, that's here. And it was that way. She asked how she could get FPs with her MB. It's not possible to do that. You need a card media to get paper FPs.

And you are welcome. They had a lot of luck this past week because it was very crowded but also a good touring plan. They did not ride all the headliners though as they don't do coasters or things like TOT.

Yeah sorry. I updated the other one. I can't keep track of which thread is which anymore because there are so many complaint threads. Lol. I thought it was a different one.

I was not trying to use my Magic Band to tap a Fastpass. I had my paper ticket and my room key. I simply asked the CM before thinking of putting them in the machine. Obviously he could also see that we were wearing MBs. I know very well how the machines work since we are there a lot.

Be careful about putting words into other people's mouths. You are one of the reasons that these threads are so obnoxious.

Here is my take on FP+:

Let me start by saying that our next trip in Dec. is a split trip. We are already more Uni driven due to onsite perks than we are Disney. We are waiting to see how the coin toss turns out for Disney in the next 2 years with this FP+ thing and park changes. I know Uni isn't for everyone, but we love it and with the express pass you feel like a VIP for every ride and the resorts are luxury for AFFORDABLE prices. Can't beat it, it really spoils you. Very cutting edge rides as well compared to Disney. Also, everything is right there at your fingertips and very convenient.

Second, my family rides ALL the adult rides at Disney (too old for kiddie rides). And we like to ride more than once. Sure, we soak up everything else too but if there were not rides we probably wouldn't go. Others specifically go to see parades, shows, meet and greet characters, etc. We do some of that but mainly we plan around rides. It may depend on your children's ages, etc.(?) as to what floats your boat but one size does not fit all.

This all being said, we would NOT be happy restricted to only 3 FP per day. We are rope drop people and we use the original FP system to the max with some planning. Just because 3 will be good for some, don't assume it is good for all. If Disney DOES change the rules to only 3 per guest per day - well there will be no more Disney vacations for us as we won't drive 12 hrs to visit and then stand in line for an hour to ride one ride. This trip is over $1K more than our trip last year due to increased costs overall and this is with 1 less person in my party. It's a lot of money to stand in line. So, if this happens either due to the FP change or just crowd increase we'll just go elsewhere for our vacations. But we know this will be our choice, with several factors involved.

However, if Disney gives this new perk to onsite guests only (and DVC/AP holders) and keeps a system in place for time spaced additional FP throughout the day - in addition to the 3 for resort guests - well that would be wonderful. We will keep planning to come and stay onsite, we may even get to the park an hour after rope drop and spend money on breakfast at one of their restaurants. :lmao:

If 3 FP is all you get in the future no matter what - well that has taken away a current perk and not improved it at all. Does anyone really think that is what Disney is doing here? :confused3 They really need to make an announcement and put everyone's fears to rest once and for all.

I am really looking forward to using FP+ this trip. I am thrilled that they are going to do more for their resort guest. I think we will love it since we plan which park ahead of time anyway. If we can't get more than 3 FP on the first park day - I'll be visiting guest services. I don't plan to cheat the system (give me a break) but I better be able to pull as many as any ticket holder in the park during this test phase.

Very good post!

Not to be rude but seriously you asked permission to use the ticket media disney gave you and should have told you to use?? Why didn't you just stick it in the machine? The CM are ppl and do whatever they feel like at any given moment. If they don't know something, they make it up a vast portion of the time.

Since you seemed very confused about the whole thing (my impression from what you posted), yep I ASSumed ;) you did what my MIL did and literally try to get a paper FP using her MB.

And I'm not the reason these threads are so obnoxious. I've kept the vast majority of my opinions to myself on the MB/FP+ matters. As well as keeping quiet while ppl ask the same questions over and over stating they are just way too busy to read anything about them but would like those in the know to instantly answer them.

~While I do believe legacy FP will eventually be phased out in a couple of years, I love this post and totally agree with the rest!!! :goodvibes

~Wow, I like that poster! I hope they post in every single thread you dare to start! :lmao:

It won't be two years. It could be as early as December. This system is live in December not testing. I don't have a release to quote but I'm fully expecting the legacy FP system will be gone in Dec.

It is only live to resort guests. The paper FPs (whatever supply is allotted to them) will still be there for day guests.

When did I say I was confused? Yes, it was the first time that I booked Fastpasses before going to the park so that was new. I was simply reporting on my experience. One thing I didn't know was that I could could change the time of each pass once I was in the park. I am not surprised that this could be done, but i didn't realize that was possible already since i had not read about this on the boards- but then again I'm sure you can figure out why i try and stay away from these posts. I tried to innocently share my experience without attacking anyone and look what happened...

I was talking to the CM about something else and he asked if I booked my Fastpasses- I said YES. He then said that I already had what I was entitled to have. Since I agreed I took him at his word and moved on with my day. I personally didnt think it was that big of a deal.

How do you know this?

That it is only live to resort guests? Because that's all who can access them. They haven't even rolled it out to AP holders yet.

How do I know they aren't pulling out the machines before Dec? There has been no chatter stating this or prep work for it. Those won't be removed until the system has been rolled out to everyone. And Disney is having enough trouble with on site guests right now. The system can't handle the number of ppl it's been rolled out to as is.

Why do you think they will be gone by Dec?

Fair enough.

I think they "could" be gone as early as Dec. The system will be live resort wide. I think it's working better for Dec than people think. I had absolutely no problems with everything for our Dec. 12th-24th trip. I'm not 100% convinced off site guest will be accessing FP+ anytime soon. They don't need to remove the machines to shut them off, there's no planning required there. I'm not in the know, just my educated speculation. It's honestly long overdue that WDW starting treating their onsite guests better than the offsite ones.
