AT my daughters birthday party? It will be outdoors and indoors, a handful of kids, and a dozen or so adults, on a Saturday, 1-3. Any ideas? Also, do you think I should offer beer? Or would that be too early?

pizza, dont do the beer some parents my not like there kids to be around strong drink even if its just a couple

What is the weather supposed to be like?

What do the kids like?

Maybe a mexican type thing.. like build your own tacos/chili/cornbread kind of thing...

Beer, well Jason has a point. Some people don't like it

Hi!!
I just had my DD birthday yesterday at Build a bear it was AWESOME!! I highly recomend it!!!!
Anyways I would say go with either sandwich meat platters or hamburger and hotdogs!
As far as Beer it depends on who you are inviting??! With our friends we usually offer beer.:)
(before anyone flames me, everyone is behaved noone gets "drunk")

I never have booze at my kids' bday parties. I don't like to be around people that are drinking too much.

I usually serve either hotdogs with the works or pizza. This year I started the pizza thing for both kids' parties and my SO's family got a little upset with me. They love the hotdog parties more.

Not sure about the food end, never was on the planning end of those parties back then. :)

Thought you might like to review this thread from a couple months ago about the beer. I myself, would nix the beer at a party which was 'deemed' to be primarily a kids' party, with primarily kids. If a big family party, then yes, if you normally serve at other family celebrations. JMO

I've been doing less and less food every year since I've found people were eating less. We ordered a bunch of pizzas one year and none of the kids ate, too busy 'bouncing' same when we have snacks. Last year I had crackers, chips, dip, rice krispy treats and had a TON left over. We ordered pizza a little later after the main group had left, our closer friends stick around and we go from there. But this year we'll have a few more people (adult wise). Maybe have a few cases of beer chilled for after! LOL
Little sandwiches for the kids? I don't know, I just know I can never get my daughter out of the bounce house for longer than it takes to eat a chip.

That is what I mean also!! Thanks Dan!! :) If it was like the party we had this past weekend (all kids from School) then no on the booze, but if it was mostly friends and family then I would offer it.:)
