We are going on the indirect train via Lille and our train leaves at 4.30ish from St Pancras. As we won't arrive at DLP until about 9pm we were thinking of eating on the train but we are not in Leisure Select so were wondering what kind of food is available to buy, is it full meals or snacks etc and is there anything that kids would eat. If not we will buy a picnic at M&S to take on the train!

PS did look on the Eurostar website and the section on food onboard was just a load of waffle and no detail at all!

Just a little bump in case anyone knows :flower3:

I know the food on the Eurostar is expensive, i think it be easier to take your own snacks.

There wasn't much choice when we went in 2004, just drinks and snacks, so in 2005 we took our own, bought at the station.

I can't remember exactly what they have (never really looked at the menu which they handed out lol) but I guess things like sandwiches/crisps/etc. Just remember thinking 'blimey, I'm not paying that amount of money for that' lol. Plus your 'coach' might be quite far from the buffet carriage - I know that I, for one, just couldn't be bothered to walk that far to get food lol (we were in Coach 1 and I think buffet was Coach 6?!).

We just bought what we wanted from M&S at St Pancras - much nicer & much cheaper:thumbsup2 .

I've only travelled leisure select but I can remember looking at a brochure once and it was very expensive and not very child-friendly. Now, this was back in 2006 when it went from Waterloo so it may have improved. Personally, I'd buy in advance from M&S. :)
