What Exactly Is "Welcome Home Wednesdays"?

Hi all, I have seen many mentions of "Welcome Home Wednesdays", and was wondering what goes on during it?

We got drawstring bags when we went in August. And DH won a certificate for a resort photo shoot and PhotoPass CD, which was very cool.

We were staying at BWV last week which is where they hold the Welcome Home Wednesdays - at the Atlantic Dance Hall (is that what it's called?). It starts at 4pm and we were on our way back to the room about 4:20pm so we thought we'd pop in. Had we gotten there when it started we would have been able to fill out some raffle slips. The one prize we saw was a Photo Pass photo shoot with portraits, etc. included. They had a Trivia Contest with three people chosen from the audience. There were snacks/drinks but they had either stopped passing them out or had run out by the time we got there. Moral of our story - get there on time (if it's something you want to do). We were only there 10 minutes but were given DVC baseball caps anyway. The drawstring bags sound good, too.

When we were there it was all very cheap stuff. Hat, bags.... But not given to everyone.

I haven't been in a while. The ball caps used to be very good quality-I won one in a trivia quiz (must be 5 years now) and it has held up beautifully. I use it all the time and it hasn't faded.

I agree, the hats are always good quality. We always go. We've gotten many hats and the summer drawstring beach bag. I've yet to win any big prizes yet, but did win a bag of goodies on the cruise during the DVC gathering. We'll be at the WhW on 10/22 and 10/29. (Unless they're cancelled, which they do sometimes.) Of course we're staying at the BWV, so no commute involved.
