What exactily is a Japanese Breakfast?

We stayed at the Dolphin last year and I wondered what a Japanese breakfast was when we ate at Coral Cafe. I forgot to ask the waiter, though. Time went by and I forgot all about it. I was just looking at Deb's menus and ran across it again. Can someone please tell me what it is before I forget about it again?

Japanese breakfast (at least in Hawaii) has rice, miso soup, tofu, pickled veggies and usually some kind of fish.

Just a warning.............the Japanese breakfast is $17.99 at the Swan and Dolphin!!!! That is why I couldn't figure out what it was. Why is it so expensive for such a small variety of food?
