What ever happened to our predicted worst winter in 10 years?!! :sunny:

Has it gone the same way as last year's prediction of the worst winter in 100 years?:sunny:

We've got bulbs coming up, trees in bud, and 'ickle baby piglets running in the fields (Gawsh! Aren't they cute? ::yes:: )

Yes, the buds are swelling hugely on my Apricot tree - very early!

I was looking forward to lots of snow! :teeth: Big kid that I am.

We've still got February to look forward to.... :worship: :worship:

I am so glad that the weather has been mild.

Me too. I can't bear the thought of having to drive 15 miles to work through snow and ice. The only day we had that was really bad was a couple of weeks before Christmas. Roll on spring :sunny:

Apparently the Met Office have said they are sticking to their guns and a very cold snap is on the way!

Soon it will be the time for the " Predicted hottest summer on record" headlines to appear.

It is either lazy media or A** covering weather prediction. The latter leaves the door open for a "We told you so" from the met office. If the predictions are wrong, the excuse will be that long term weather prediction is "notoriously difficult" Think the Americans call it "covering the bases"

Either way, when the BBC cannot get the next days weather correct, I don`t take any notice of long term weather forecasts. What will be will be.

Ssshhh, there's still plenty of time for cold temperatures, ice and snow (yuck !!) . Mind you, it must be dullest, dreariest Winter we've ever had ::yes::

"dullest and dreariest" - I suppose, depending on your point of view, that could be the worst winter in 10 years! It doesn't satisfy the Snow lovers or the sun worshippers.

Me...gimme more snow and lots of it

I've been waiting for some lovely snow, if only to take pictures of the cats experiencing it for the first time! They went out when we had just a few flakes coming down and spent half an hour chasing the flakes and being totally confused when they caught one and it vanished!

My husband is not very happy about the lack of snow(He spends many an hour on weather forums?) this year he had his hopes raised by this predicted worst winter in ten years now he is sulking blames me as we bought a sledge about 5 years ago and have never had snow since :sunny:

I quite agree with this and with the others who don't want snow / very cold weather. At the expense of sounding like a complete killjoy, I spend all night awake worrying that DH will have an accident on his way home from work at 4 in the morning.

We are off to Devon in February (half term) and I would love it to be mild so we can walk along the beach!!! Well at least to the pub. I have phoned ahead to check they allow children and it is looking good. I just would prefer not to have snow.

Finger crossed.
