What ever happened to Emerald Asile Discounts?

My dates are Dec 9-14.....there was a rate last year with priceless vacations that took off alot of fees that has been since removed. This Carlson code is not one I have seen before but it actually gave me a lower base rate....the fees etc are still added on.

Thanks again Tonnie....saved me a bundle!!

I looked and it looks like mousesavers took the info off regarding this travel code. It use to be a great code to use because you didn't have to pay the concession fees, but that changed last year. I actually registered with the tavel company when using this code, but not sure what their status is anymore. I remember that many of us had used the carlson code and when we checked our reservations online, the rate had changed to a higher amount. I personally would use it again if I got a decent rate with it, but that is JMHO.

I same thing as the "Priceless" code where the concession fees were removed them added back a few days later....

Maybe I'm getting them mixed up...I remember the priceless code took off the concession fees...that number was/is 6600330, but hardly anyone uses that anymore. So don't remember why folks stopped using the carlson code....maybe because we didn't have enough info....or maybe because we all found the priceless code and loved that one until it ended.??? oh well, no matter, the prices are still so much higher than what we have come to expect. I still wait each morning to see if someone on the disboards will start a thread saying .. "my national rates dropped today"....

I thought that Mousesavers determined that the Carlson code was for travel agents only and removed it from their site. (that is the note I had written beside the Carlson code on my list). I could be wrong tho.

I recall that National caught on to the use of the Carlson code and stopped honoring it the time of rental pcik-up. Maybe things have changed but I would be cautious about using it. If I had time, I would do a search on here but I gotta run.

WOW!!! Thanks for the code. I just tried it, and my rate went from 384.08 to 211.72. That's more like it! Thanks so much for the tip.

You are right on this one, it is for travel agents and they may ask for ID to use it. That is why Mary took it off her site, IIRC. I have used it in the past but once Mousesavers gives it a thumbs down, I switched to the AMEX code which, in my experience, gives the same discount.

If you plan on using it and have an AMEX try that one first, otherwise, buyer beware.

I have a reservation for Dec 1-6 using the AMEX Code and Entertainment Book Coupon for $125 all inclusive.

Thanks for the info. I just checked using the AMEX code and got the same rate as the carlson code, so I changed reservations. Don't want any hassles when we get there. Thanks again

Problem is I don't have an AMEX, none of the other codes are even close. I work at CAA and we get travel agent discounts so maybe I will be fine. Not sure if its just Carlson agents or not. For now I have made a ressie with Alamo as the rate is considerably better than the best I can get with National not using the Carlson code so I have back up.

I never get asked for my AMEX at National and I use my Visa to pay for AMEX code rentals, but Mary does say that if you use the AMEX code it's a good idea to bring it when you pick up the car.

The AMEX code knocked a bunch off my 3 day rental for December and I had a free day. I am normally a ME rider but this is a short trip and a late arrival. I'd get a car for one day only, but I already had a free day, so made it the weekend.
