My DW and I were discussing which ONE enhancement would make DVC perfect in every way. I said being able to see resort availability online without a phone call. My DW said 15 month resie window for home resorts and 11 month window at all others. What would you all choose?

Be able to actually book and modify real time online, just like you do a cash ressie? Check inventory like cash rooms, and see a little bit more information(detail) on each resort as far as when refurbs were coming and what to expect again online, Tho its has not been a problem for me, I have seen it posted by others that like it a little quieter when they are at a Resort and knowing what Maint was being done could help them select a Resort for there stay.pirate:

On line booking would be great. Discounts on park tickets not just annual passes. More discounts at restaurants and shops, my wife loves to save. It's what made her agree to membership. Now every time we look there are less discounts with more black out times. Members only clubs at each resort. Hey this is fun.

More discounts would be great as would online booking. But I would LOVE to see screens on the patio doors! I love having the door open but always worry about bugs coming in.

I agree with more online access, and more communication on what's going on / upcoming. We're fine with the discounts we have, but maybe more exclusive member events. Like a members only party at California Grill, or special tours "behind the magic", etc... (not the best examples, but you get the picture...)

More discounts couldn't hurt, especially on park tickets instead of just APs. I would LOVE online booking and availability. It would make those "last minute" trips much easier and would be better than sitting on the phone with MS forever!

and I worry about snakes and lizards coming in . . . . especially if on the ground floor (having had two lizards in my room last trip!)

12 months window would be perfect. 15 months would prbly create more cancellaton and modification down the road.
My #1 would be online reservation not by emails, but actual booking similar to online check in for airline where you click to pick your seats. We should be able to pick the rooms right at the click online and see all the availabilities.

I don't care about online booking, I love talking to the CM's on the phone.:) What I would LOVE is a really great discount on the park passes AND one at World of Disney store in DD.

Online booking and the dining line to open at the same time as the general publics dining line!

During Food & Wine, I'd love some cooking demos, and then they would send you off with the recipe, and all the groceries to make it in your villa.

Online booking, front of th line passes for DVC members staying at a DVC Resort, DVC Members' Only Park Entrance/free admission to all the Parks, 4 passenger carts for rent (or free) at SSR, poolhopping privileges at all Resorts, free golf for members, guaranteed room views, free room upgrades if available, no more renting points to non-members (other than first degree relatives), DVC Memers' Only Park admisiion (on a Park rotating basis, for members and up to 4 guests), free valet parking at the Parks for members only, 50% food and beverage discounts (including alcohol) at all the restaurants, front of the line at all restaurants (no wait seating, no reservations required) for DVC Members only. Is that asking too much?

Online booking is my #1 wish.

I wouldn't want online booking from Disney if you threw it at me.

And I am a person who is online, loves to do my own stuff by myself, thank you very much.

WHY?

Disney can't seem to design an efficient working website to save their life. Nothing works the way it should~ ESPECIALLY when booking a room.

Case in point: I helped my sibs book a room on disneyworld.com for a June trip to CBR. DB and his wife wanted a king room. DSis wanted a Pirate room. We go online, type in the dates, and both room categories come up as available.

GREAT! We book them.

Later on, DSis wants to make sure their reservations are linked so that they can hopefully get rooms together. She goes online and we can't even see where you can look up your own reservation. Ridiculous.

She pulls out the reservation and then sees that she has a STANDARD room, not a Pirate room. So we call and sure enough, even though I watched her select the Pirate room online, the CM says, "No, you have a standard room."

And it wasn't even that there were no Pirate rooms available ~ there were! Thankfully, CM Nicholas was a fabulous person and got her room reservation straightened out for her.

While on the phone with Nicholas, we asked him to check DB's reservation to make sure he had a king room. Even though we booked that category room online, it was only listed as a "request". Thankfully, there was a king room left and Nicholas booked that guaranteed king room for him.

Morale of the story: While I have every confidence in booking online with Hilton, Holiday Inn, Country Inn and Suites and a host of other hotel chains, I have ZERO confidence in Disney's IT department to do online reservations without messing something up like this. I'd end up spending more time, double checking to make sure nothing got messed up on their end of things.

I know that calling in lately has been a pain, but most of us veterans know that these times are few and far between. Yes, it stinks to happen when you have to be calling in, but given the choice between Disney's IT designing an online reservation system and calling MS...I'll call MS.

I appreciate the AP discount but I'd like to see park pass discounts as well. I really don't care one way or the other about online booking. I also would like to see more DVC merchandise available, I know that is really not an enhancement but something I'd like to see. Twenty percent discount at all resorts would be nice too. I would say something to do with fastpasses, but I like that currently there is equal availability for everyone with no extra cost.

Discounts on other park passes would be nice if we could purchase them for extended family too (only if they were on the reservation WITH you). We wanted to plan a trip with extended family (which ultimately fell thru) but I nearly choked when I looked up how much a 7 day park hopper would be for them!! I think that was the deal breaker for the trip for them. That really makes the AP's sound reasonable when you think about it and compare the prices.

Personally, we would probably be willing to pay a little extra for a special fast pass that is a pass to the front of the line. Like $10 / day pp or something. We would do that. Esp. on shorter trips where time is valuable or if it was a busy / peak period with long waits for everything.

If they could get online booking to work like they do with the cruiseline where you can select your own villa that would be cool. Or at least have a place to put in for a request for a specific location or something. Otherwise I would still call for ressies.

I agree that their IT Dept. is basically worthless. I have complained to DVC customer service several times that I don't receive their emails & they respond "well, it looks like you should". Hello? What kind of an answer is that? I don't receive them. I read about them here on the DIS but I don't get them. Now, each time I read about one I email to ask about it. Last time, I received an email back saying that my complaint was being passed along to the webmaster. 3 guesses to you if I ever heard anything back after that!!! :sad2: Nope. Nada. Nothing. Zero. Zip. :sad2:
