What else to say to the characters???

It wasn't what we said but what my son DID to get extra time with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. He had just turned 2 on our last trip and he absolutly fell in love with Minnie! When our time was up(we were at the judges tent), he freaked out! He said he wanted to stay with them. So Minnie called him over(with her hands of course) and gave him another big hug and then Mickey came over and was playing with him. Then they looked at me at waved me away and held onto my son to basically say "You can go now. We are adopting your kid." We got a ton of pictures via my camera and photpass. There must have been about 15 pics altogether with photopass which shocked me. We were in the room with them(it was just my family) for over ten minutes...That is probably one of my fave memories of Disney. It was my son's first trip there and he is obssesed with Disney as much as me! Can't wait to take him back for his second trip next year!

When we met Flynn Rider, I called him Eugene (his REAL name). His look was so funny. We saw them only a few days after the movie came out, so I don't think he was prepared yet- don't know. My daughter won't forget it- she still laughs about it.

last itme we went DH had a stitch shirt on when we went to CP and when tigger came over he stuck his hand over stitch to cover it up... then later that day when we saw stitch at epcot DH got a big high five when he saw the shirt

My best character interation from that trip was planned by DH.... Piglet is my absolute favorite so he had it arranged that while we were at CP for a big family meal Piglet came out while he proposed... I was able to get lots of pictures and interaction from that. And the funniest thing that is still talked about now is how mad I was getting when piglet came out and noone was taking my picture, apparently his family was in on the proposal and were waiting for that to take a pic

When I saw Cinderella she commented that she liked the color of my shirt, so I said that Gus helped me pick out the material. I got an interesting reaction to that because we were then talking about her little mouse friend.

I am definitely bringing up Gus-gus the next time I see her too! Not to mention that he is my fave little mouse from that movie! :goodvibes

I've gone up to Chip and Dale and started singing the "Rescue Rangers" theme song. They were very amused and danced around!

On another trip, I brought my little Puss in Boots stuffed animal. I had him with me when I met up with Mexico Donald. Well, Donald was NOT amused! He kept acting like he was disgusted by Puss. This picture ensued:

During my trip this past November I had two interesting conversations with characters, both during MVMCP. I was by myself waiting for my turn with Lilo and Stitch. The group before me was several guys about 20ish that were flirting with Lilo and Stitch was acting jealous. So, when it was my turn Stitch was flirting with me and kept kissing me on the cheek to make Lilo jealous. She walked away with her arms folded and refused to be in the picture until I told her I was sure Stitch loved her the most!

Later, I was the last person in line for Tiana and Naveen at the end of the night. They asked me where I was from and when I told them MD, they both started asking me about crab cakes. Tiana told me she always imagined crab cakes to be as big as a sheet cake, not more like a burger size. Naveen was telling me how they both love seafood, being from New Orleans, but that it had gotten them in trouble recently. Seems they had Ariel over for dinner and served fish and lobster, and Ariel was very upset (because of her friends Sebastian and Flounder). They said they did apologize to her though and everything was okay between them again. :rotfl2:

So maybe ask Tiana and Naveen about serving seafood to Ariel? :scared1:

This is the best thread of information I've read. This helps me interact along with my DD9 and DD17. Cant'wait for the 28th of April!!pirate:

We had a funny one with Donald Duck in AK ... My hubby (who is actually a bigger Donald Duck fan!!) had on a Mickey Mouse hat and Donald took it off him and would not let him wear it in the photo he took with him LOL

We tried to explain that he loved Donald Duck best but the Donald Duck hat colors did not match his clothes LOL Donald did not have anything to do with it!

Here is the photo we finally got (with no hat LOL)

Sorry if these are repeats...

Buzz Lightyear: I asked my DD3 what he liked to say and then I'd ask, "Was it 'To Infinity and the Mall?'" And he did not like that! Just shook his head at us.

Chip 'n Dale: They were awesome to begin with with my DD3. We visited them multiple times in Epcot. One time Chip tried to walk off w/ DD and told us that they were going to ride Soarin'. Another time, I invited them over and said that we had a lot of acorns at our house. That did the trick!

Drizella: Ask her which bow she is wearing. Apparently, she has one for every day of the year!

We also had a personalized autograph book with pages for each character and this also generated a lot of conversation.

One time, at the Minnie and friends breakfast in Disneyland, Hook was handing out balloons to the kids. My DD, who was 4 at the time was very upset because she was afraid he'd pop them. She followed him around telling him to be careful. The Captain started laughing, and had to go back to the kitchen to compose himself.

She also offered Geppeto our phone number so he could call me for parenting advise. She told him she was always a good girl, and didn't lie or miss school ever. She got a big hug out of that one.

After she met Pinocchio, I told her to check for splinters, that got a good reaction.

We are two adults (retired).
In Epcot as we were walking up for our turn with Duffy, Duffy started dancing. The photographer told Duffy that these people are waiting for their pictures. I said "I'll dance with you Duffy" and we started doing a waltz.
At MVMCP, when we went to see Mickey and Minnie hubby started flirting with Minnie while Mickey got upset and started flirting with me.
One thing that we noticed, if we tell the photopass person that we are getting the CD, there seems to be more interaction with the characters and a lot more pictures.

Several people have just posted "bump." What does that mean?

It just means that when a thread isn't on the first page someone goes and "bumps" it back to the top by adding a reply.

For our trip my wife asked if she could see Cinderella's glass shoe and that got a nice conversation started as she was signing my daughter's (18months) autograph book as my daughter was protesting it

I had the best reaction with Snow White at Akershus last year. When she got to our table I asked he if she was the one who made sure there were no apple desserts. She giggled and said yes. We chatted a little after. She was amazing, she sounded exaclty like Snow White, and was just charming. It was the most magical part of my vacation. :goodvibes:

This was back in like 1995 when the characters didn't have set locations to meet. I was 17 and had been "stalking characters" to get signatures. I had seen Captain Hook several times. He had no line and called me over and took my signature book. He wrote "You stink!" and signed it Captain Hook. I laughed, but played offended.

Mr. Smee came over and looked at it and pretended to fuss at Captain Hook. Captain Hook picked up a chair (it was a big pink metal chair) and lifted it to hit Mr. Smee over the head with it. But, he did that just right that the back of the chair went over Mr. Smee's head and it got stuck. Somewhere I have pictures of this.

The CM had to quickly lead Mr. Smee behind the scenes with the chair on his head to take it off. On the way, Captain Hook stole my autograph book. I was a little worried about that. The CM ran back to me and assured me that he'd get it back if I waited.

I had to wait like 15 minutes there. The CM brought it back. When I looked inside, I had about 4 personalized autographs. Goofy wrote, "Gawrsh, Captain Hook said you smell funny."
