DVC Chit Chat Thread

okay, DVC owners let's chat! You regularly go on Disney property so you've probably bought a Disney coffee mug, shirt, etc. Now that you've been several times to Disney, do you even buy merchandise souvenirs anymore?
I'll usually see a shirt or something that I really like on every trip. I typically won't buy it right away, but I'll notice it in every shop during the trip. Usually I cave on the last day and buy it. Sometimes I wait and end up buying it the next time.

Recently I've started buying my wife a candle that I bring home when I'm on a solo trip. I like this IASW one that I got recently:

My fam wants me to bring home snacks from solo trips… Dole Whip and Churro Mickie Cookies, Churro toffee, etc. My teenager refers to it as “peak”.

I'm definitely going to have to look for those cookies at my next visit. I've been missing out as I've never heard of them.

The DVC merch gets me every time. A new mug, pin, sweatshirt, Christmas ornament, etc. I also love the art prints. The more recent Disney home collection items are so good.

I am a DL local and go several times a month so really have to restrain myself.

Fortunately I am not a massive fan of most Disney apparel, which helps keep costs down!

Probably one item every other trip. Since DVC, we've gone to the character warehouse more often (DVC made us want to rent a car more often, and it's only like 10 minutes from Disney Springs.)

I instead have a minor coffee mug collection problem.
^^this. Some of my mugs are now just for displaying.

I am not the shopper, DH is, but I am a sucker for usually one ears, one pin commemorating the trip, and a resort magnet when we scratch it off our bucket list. We don’t buy any resort merchandise until we stay there. Just an imaginary rule we created for ourselves.

I love the fuzzy Christmas Crocs as my winter indoor/outdoor slippers to run the dog out back home to use the bathroom when I don’t want to deal with boots and laces or sneakers.

DD is over spirit jerseys and most pins. She may do Disney earrings or backpack charms.

DS bought a Stitch wallet and now just hides in the room all week. He’s over the parks two years ago but loves R&R.

DH loves it all; clothes, Tommy Bahama stuff, themed Crocs, pins, and he would buy housewares except I hose him down because I am trying to constantly purge every season and he’s a collector at heart.

I will say, he has good taste and has gifted/created very artistic pin boards for DD and I and a cool Riviera frame with Riviera pins that made a very nice shadow box, so while I can’t be Scroogy, I can appreciate his sentimentality.

Does anyone know if there is some sort of refund or transfer process in the event that flights are canceled to and from Orlando for the premier pass?

NM: Found this https://plandisney.disney.go.com/qu...ing-premiere-pass-monday-tuesday-june-614430/

It is modifiable if there is availability.

Doubtful...If the pass is already activated. then there is usually no adjustments made, unless there is a nartional emergency that warrants closing the parks for a prolonged period of time, and then I would assume it would be handled similarly to how it was handled under COVID. If the pass has NOT been activated, then in the event of a national emegerncy, they may refund, oir simply apply the price of the pass to a future pass.

The Plan Disney Q&A stated that they will let you modify it to a different day if there is availability (also unactivated).

I verified in the MDE app:

Oh, you were talking about lightning lane. I thought you were talking about a park pass. For that, maybe they would refund. You'd need to either call or go to guest services.

It is crazy that DLR does not want our money like WDW 🤣
It is weird that DL doesn't have MB charging. but DL really isn;t a long term destination like WDW, Most folks stay 1 to 3 days. It is still mostly a regional type park with mostly local visitors. People may stay at the hotels longer, as a base for other SoCal attractions, like Knott's Universal or Magivc Mountain, but it isn't usually a primary week long DL only vacation.

If they offered the ability to attach a CC to a MagicBand, locals like me would eat this up and spend wayyyy more. MBs just aren't used at DL in the same way, although at least we now have ticket gates with MB touchpoints!
