What else to say to the characters???

Our last morning was at Ohana breakfast. Pluto came by our table and DD told him we had dog at home named Daisy who's a girl. Pluto got very interested in this so DH described our dog to him and he got more excited then DH told said, "but she's also spayed." Pluto's head dropped and he walked away depressed - DD didn't know what just happened and DH and I were rolling.

I enjoyed all of your stories but this one was TOO funny & SO CUTE!! I love it!!!

We're heading to the world in Sept. and I have a couple of character questions.

Do Buzz or Woody have "ANDY" written on the bottom of their shoe?

How does Capt. Hook react if you ask for a high 5?

You can do what my then 3 year old niece did...she saw Ariel at the Princess Breakfast and just about went into Kiddie Shock, when Ariel came over and said "hello Princess" Kayla said "I love you!" Ariel said, "I see you have me on your shirt and your pins" and Kayla said:

"YES AND I HAVE YOU ON MY PANTIES TOO!"

I almost passed out but Ariel just smiled and gave her a hug and a wink at me!

ariel wrote about this story in her diary the day it happened, i know she thought it was very funny and cute!

Can't believe I've missed this thread previously.

This character situation just goes to show how easily kids can get into the magic and believe.

In '06 our six year old son desperately wanted to take part in the Jack Sparrow pirate tutorial - on our last day, we made sure he had on a bandanna, and even gave him a make-up pirate goatee. We arrive early and he was the first one picked - which meant he got to "fight" Jack instead of Mack - a highlight of his vacation.

Now, this was timed perfectly - as we left the tutorial, heading back towards Frontierland, our son spots Capt. Hook, and starts running towards him yelling,

Captian Hook! Jack Sparrow is giving pirate lessons over there! If he teaches you, maybe you can beat Peter Pan next time!!!

The person playing Smee starts doing a doubled over laughing gesture while Hook just slapped his forehead with his hand.

Okay, I'll share.

I didn't really plan this, it was very spur of the moment. My DS was asleep in his stroller while we were walking past France, and I happened to see Belle out. Now, she is just my absolute favorite princess, so regardless of him sleeping, I was going to get my picture taken.

I know...I'm a big kid.

So when I finally got up to her, I said hello, and told her she was my favorite princess. She very graciously replied, thank you. I then told her that I could pretend that the autograph and picture were for my son who was sleeping, but that really...(and I dropped my voice a bit)...they were for me!

I don't know why, but it just struck her as funny, and we have a picture of Belle and I with huge grins on our faces, and one of her laughing uncontrollably! She asked me how to spell my name, called me "Princess ______" and then personalized the autograph for me.

So yes, there's now an autograph in my son's book to me.

My sister and I had a long conversation with the Fairy Godmother while we were in DL. She sat down at our table and talked with us for probably 10 minutes. And I am pushing 30 and my sister is almost 35. My sister told her she always wanted to be a princess, and FG told her - But my dear - you already ARE a princess.

Captain Hook was being especially naughty that day and had stolen my sister's sunglasses. We were laughing about it, and FG told us not to encourage him.

I told the Fairy Godmother that I wanted her help finding Prince Charming. She said to me, "Didn't the one I sent for you arrive?"

My DH and I were at Cinderella's castle for dinner and when we came downstairs we saw Cinderella. I said that I always wanted to be Cinderella and she said, "But you are a princess" turning to my DH, "I hope that you treat her as one." I got lots of mileage with that one!

Another time, my DH tried to ask one of the Guides walking with Goofy how the CMs stay cool under the costumes. He felt the question was safe since there were no children around. She looked at him as if he had two heads and said, "What costumes?" He continued, saying that the fur must be really hot and she added, "Oh, I see what you are saying. In the summertime they cut their fur really short." I laughed outloud. She was great!

This kind of reminds me of when were went to Turtle Talk w/ Crush after the "show" we were asking a couple of CMs in the Living Seas how they do that, get Crush to be able to answer kids questions? All they would say is "He's a big talking turtle." even after we keep asking. Untill just now I just thought they were just being annoying but now I think they were just keeping Crush as a character and not ruining the magic.

Honestly I think its someone in the back talking into the microphone and can see through the screen and they over ride his voice using "Crush's" voice. Thats how they are able to point out kids wearing certain colored clothes and etc. Same thing for Monster Inc. Laugh Floor.

However, I do know there is no electronic voice changer thing. Those are the real performers' voices. They were auditioned for their ability to impersonate Crush's voice.

At MGMStudios, I met Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable. I am not a outgoing person, but Disney changes me alot. I went there and told Ron that he could not be in the photo cause I only wanted Kimmie. He was upset and played well with it stating that Kim was his girlfriend and I couldn't have her, etc... My GF got great photos of the interaction between me and ron. Kimmie just stood there laughing the whole time. Ron whine and Kimmie and I got my photo.
At DL in CA, I met Cruella and Evil Queen and we just copied each other poses and Cruella said there was too much fabulous in the photos that they were going to be worth money one day. They love playing around.

Well, while having lunch at the Garden Grille, Pluto came to our table while we were eating dessert, and pointed to the chocolate covered strawberries, as if to say "Can I have those?".

My partner, not missing a beat, said "Oh no, dogs can't have chocolate." Pluto responded by giving us a "Raspberry"....

I had a fun character experience years and years ago - DH and I went before we were married, and did a character breakfast at Hollywood and Vine (before it was Playhouse Disney ). Pluto was a riot - despite the kids in the restaurant, he took to me and just wouldn't leave me alone! Sat with me, held my hand, hugged me, kissed me, even told my husband to leave! He also took me out to the floor to dance with him when the music came on. I felt kinda bad he was spending all this time with me and not the kids around us. Still, I thought it was a total riot - but DH still has it out for Pluto to this day

*slightly OT but wanted to answer this*
I saw this show a ouple of weeks ago and the performer was actually in the room with the kids! I sat in the back and he was holding a small microphone to his ear and standing over to the side.. kind of like how it works with Push. I don't know if that's how it normally is done or just on occasion but it was very obvious to me because I could see his lips moving exactly with what Crush was saying and he didn't leave at the end of the show- just stood around with the other CM's.

My son , 4 yr old granddaughter and son's girlfriend and myself were at dinner at 1900 Park Fare when Stepsister Drizella came up to our table. I asked her if she was looking for a husband because my son was single. She was so funny, she asked my son if he had lots of money and he said yes, did he have enough money to build her a big house, he said yes and she said a really really big house ? He said he had enough money to build her a house as big as she wanted, then she asked him about buying her a huge diamond ring and that there was a jewelry shop around the corner and to go buy her one and come back. I then asked her if her mother would be a very good grandma because his little girl was part of the package, she then asked if she was an easy child which I replied No, she can be very demanding, she said no that her mother would not be a very good grandmother to which I replied then the engagement is off.
