What else to say to the characters???

Last year when we met Belle and Beast in Epcot my 4yo daughter asked Belle why she went into the West Wing.

She also decided to show Aurora her Malificent temp tatoo at the Princess Breakfast. Aurora acted scared and tried to hide behind our 4yo son.

Two years ago my kids told Snow White that they always say "Don't eat the apple Snow White" on her ride and she responded " I only eat green ones now"

Alice and the Mad Hatter who already had given us a lot of time and great interaction were mystified when we told our daughter to say goodbye because we had to go catch our flight.

Last week we went to the PPP & I got to meet Ariel in mermaid form. I asked her what she liked better....being a mermaid or having human legs. She said she LOVES living in the ocean, but likes having legs because of all the cute shoes! She was ADORABLE!!

Back when DS was 6 we ate at 1900ParkPlace hoping to see Mad Hatter so when he came by our table DS told him "Today is my Un-birthday and I came to celebrate with you!" and Mad Hatter said, "What a coinsidence, it's my Un-birthday too!" THey posed together for their Un-birthday pictures & Mad Hatter visited our table many times to see how the Unbirthday Party was going. On the way out, Mary Poppins & "Dick VanDkye" were sitting in a chair posing for pictures, well DS didn't really want to sit for a picture with a "girl" so when he sat between them Mary Poppins said, "Sit up, don't sloutch!" Oh was his face priceless! I still tell him, "Sit up, don't sloutch!" and he's now 11 :rotfl2:

Another time in 2004 we got stuck (pity) at WDW during Hurricane Francis so we just kept enjoying our vacation, we had a meal at the Garden Grill in Epcot. So we pretty much had the place to ourselves but DS loved wearing this t-shirt that had  Scooby Doo on it and we didn't think about the nondisney theme :rolleyes1 until Pluto comes by our table. Oh my gosh, if you could have seen Pluto carrying on over that shirt! :rotfl2: He grabs a napkin and writes "PLUTO #1" and pushes it on DS's shirt, crosses his arms and starts thumping his foot. :rotfl2: My son gets beat red and starts apologizing for wearing the shirt. Pluto is all over my son, now wrestling on him, putting him in a head lock, complaining to my mom by pointing to the shirt with his arms up in the air:rotfl2: He then puts my mom's head in his mouth, goes back and does it to DS. It was the funniest thing I ever saw. We were laughing until we cried. Then later, he comes back with Chip & Dale to show them the awful shirt. Of course now they are in on the action. Oh it's great to be in WDW even if a hurricane is coming!:rotfl:

DD was almost 5 years old and asked Jasmine when she and Aladdin were going to get married. Jasmine sweetly replies, "We get married in third movie." DD looks at me, arms crossed and informed me that we must buy that movie immediately.

Same trip, DD was dismayed that Ariel wasn't at Cinderella's coronation celebration. She just couldn't leave it alone and kept asking me about it all day. The next morning, Ariel greets us in her lovely pale green dress at the entrance to Akerhaus. DD asks her why she wasn't there.
With all the patience in the world, Ariel kneels down and says, "Remember in my movie at the concert for my father when the sea shell opens?" (She opens her hands like a shell)
DD nods her head.
Ariel: "Do you remember where I was?"
DD: "You were playing and you were late."
Ariel: "It's a terrible habit of mine. I get distracted, lose track of time and I'm late. Don't worry though. I've already spoken to Cinderella, I've apologized and she said that it was okay. We're still the best of friends."
DD looks at me with the fiercest look she can muster and tells me, "See? Everything is fine Mom, they're still friends!" As if I were the one wondering where Ariel was. All I could do was shurg.
:confused3

This is one of the best threads I have read on here! Thanks for the entertainment!!

I sort of have one. My DD3 was in DL & we were next in line to meet Flick & Princess Atta & right as we get up there DD3 says she has to go to the bathroom. So, I tell them we will be back to visit with them later & all of a sudden Flick grabs my DD3's hand and walks her all the way to the nearest bathroom!! We got most of it on video but I know that will never happen again!!!!

This thread is full of such wonderful stories!!!

One time my Dad called Prince John King Louie and Prince John put his hands on his hips and gave him a "dirty look." It was great! My Dad didn't quite get the fact that it was, in fact, Prince John and NOT King Louie, so my Dad kept on trying to prove his point by pointing at Prince John's crown, etc., but then, after a little help, he realized that it Prince John to whom he had been talking!

This is such a great thread. I try to have fun with the characters... it must get boring just taking pictures all day and signing autographs. I have a few stories from my most recent trip:

-My boyfriend and I were waiting in line to meet Jango Fett (for Star Wars weekends) and a little boy in front of us was waving his purple light saber at him. Jango looked around and simply plucked the light saber out of his hands. MY boyfriend said to him, "Isn't that the light saber that took your head off?" and he glared at my boyfriend and made the cut your throat signal.

-This one is kind of like the character making my day with her conversation... I met Belle in Epcot and she said, "Hello Princess, where is your prince?" I pointed to my boyfriend, "He's over there taking pictures." She said, "Oh I see he's gentle like my prince. He's not a beast?" And I said, "Well, he can be." She laughed and said, "You don't know the half of it." She delighted me with this convo.

-Mickey asked me for a kiss at Chef Mickeys and I gave him one but then I told him he better watch out for Minnie. He peered around the restraurant and gave me a thumbs up. Later, he walked passed my table and gave me the "call me" signal.

I love meeting characters and starting conversations. It's stuff like this that make characters not just for kids... but also the young at heart. My 24-year-old boyfriend wanted to meet characters the whole time we were there.

We had breakfast at CRT and ds (who was 4.5 at the time) told all the princesses that he was there to protect them with his sword. Belle was the first one over and she went to tell Snow White who was across the room that there was a knight there to protect them. Ds loved it :)

We had the most wonderful vacation in February filled with character interactions - This was her first trip and she LOVES princesses.

Cindy's stepsisters stopped in front of DD during the parade and gave her a hard time because she was dressed like Cinderella. DD LOVED that. A little girl in a princess dress gets LOTS of interactions.

One morning we were in France hoping to see Beauty and the Beast when Aurora walks out, spots DD who was wearing her Sleeping Beauty gown and takes her hand and strolls through the gardens with DD. They stopped and chatted for a while. I got teary and so did several strangers around us - the two of them dressed alike walking and talking like old friends was an experience I'll never forget. Then they spun in their dresses together and DD got a kiss from Sleeping Beauty that she wore proudly for the rest of the day.

Another day we went to Belle's story time in MK and DH was picked to play the role of Beast. Hilarious! We all refer to Belle as "daddy's girlfriend" now because of that. And DD told every princess we saw that her daddy was Belle's boyfriend...we had to explain that one quite a bit and still find ourselves explaining this to preschool teachers, etc. That got people talking!

Our last morning was at Ohana breakfast. Pluto came by our table and DD told him we had dog at home named Daisy who's a girl. Pluto got very interested in this so DH described our dog to him and he got more excited then DH told said, "but she's also spayed." Pluto's head dropped and he walked away depressed - DD didn't know what just happened and DH and I were rolling.

HAHAHAHA! That's awesome! And awesome that your BF knew that!

THat one is hysterical!:rotfl2:

Great tips!

We are headed back in November but on our last trip for DS's 5th birthday we had breakfast with the princess in Norway. All of them gave DS a birthday kiss on different spots around his face, by the end of the meal he had 5 lipstick kisses. When Jasmine came over (she was the last too kiss him) she called him a street urchin and told him to come see her later in Morrocco. Well we didn't make it over that day but the next day we were in Morrocco and out comes Jasmine and Alladin so DS wanted to get in line to see them. When it was his turn Jasmine leaned over and said, "I see you finally made it to see me! What took you so long?" Then she proceeded to tell Alladin about the encounter the day before and what a street urchin he was. To say the least DS loved it and asked Alladin if Jasmine could give him another kiss! LOL!

:rotfl: that is hilarious!

For the person that asked about Goofy's wife (Max's mom), I think that she died. She was mentioned briefly in a photo in one of the Goofy Movies, if I remember correctly.

This time around, If I see Anastasia (the stepsister), I want to ask whatever happened to her baker boyfriend (the one in Cindy II).

When we were there in August, we saw Aladdin at Epcot. My son told him, "I know who your arch nemesis is." Aladdin whispered, "That guy smells really bad!" It made my son's whole day. He really feels as though they have a special bond now!

You can do what my then 3 year old niece did...she saw Ariel at the Princess Breakfast and just about went into Kiddie Shock, when Ariel came over and said "hello Princess" Kayla said "I love you!" Ariel said, "I see you have me on your shirt and your pins" and Kayla said:

"YES AND I HAVE YOU ON MY PANTIES TOO!"

I almost passed out but Ariel just smiled and gave her a hug and a wink at me! :rotfl:

Oh how funny! That would be something my DD would say.

I don't have one about something we said to a character, but I have one about a character who said something funny to us!

It was my first trip to WDW in 1999 with my sister and our two cousins-10yr and a 8 yr old. The 8yr old turned 9 and the 10 yr old was almost 11.

We are at Ariel's Grotto and my cousins are posing for a picture when Ariel says "Let's get mommy in the picture".

Everytime I think of Ariel now I just end up laughing!

I was only 14 when my cousin was born. Most people think I'm younger than I really am.

My cousins still joke about it when we talk about our trip to DW.
