What else to say to the characters???

Last year when we were at 1900 Park Fair, When Cinderella came by our table, my dd6 had colored 2 pictures for her and made her a note, when she gave them to her, Cindy said how much she loved them and would save them to hang up at the Castle. It had to be the BIGGEST smile I've ever seen on my dd face and I got the picture. What a memory. :goodvibes

MY DD was so shy that she wouldn't talk to Peter Pan and Wendy. Peter thought that the pirates cut out her tongue and that's why she couldn't talk. LOL.

At MGM it was raining and the characters were in that empty ABC building. Pluto was behind a railing that looked kinda like a cage. My DD tried and tried helping him out--it was quite funny! Chip came along and tried to put him back in but my DD told him to behave himself and stop being mean to Pluto. His reaction was quite funny--he nodded and looked sat while Pluto was jumping all over the place with joy.

I love this thread. We're leaving in 2 weeks and have 3 character meals planned. We have our first ressie at CRT - so excited!

2 years ago, at the Princess Storybook breakfast, my 5 year niece met Belle and said, "I've seen all your movies!" Belle replied, "Oh, then you must know everything about me!"
It was sooo cute!
After she left, my sister and I realized that in all the huh-ub, we forgot to get a picture with her. We approached some CM's and asked if it was possible, could we see Belle again, after she's greeted all the other guests? They said, we'll see... well, we were thrilled when after a while, she came back, gracious as ever and posed with us. It was so freaky, because even her voice sounded like the voice of Belle in the movie!
At the Cinderella dinner at the GF, Cinderella kissed my niece on the cheeck and left her lipstick mark. She was mesmerized - and wouldn't wash it off until the next day! Cinderella was very chatty, especially when she heard we were from NY, and told us all about her visiting her "princess friends" in NYC.
I've got some great ideas on how to strike up some conversation with everyone on our next trip.
Thanks!

When my dd met the Queen of Hearts and Malefiecant she bowed in front of both of them. They were so charmed they each drew their picture in her autograph book and then drew mustaches on the pictures of sleeping beauty and alice on the cover of the autograph books

Both Alice and mary Poppins made a big fuss of my husband because of his English accent.
still don't really know how it happened butTweedledum and tweedle dee started to have a fight over who would sign my autograph book first and kept snatching it from one another and then chased each other round the tea cup ride.
Meeko kept checking my pockets when I told him I didn't have any crackers.
King Louie danced with us when we sang I'm the king of the swingers to him.

Back in the late '70s Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum goosed my Mom as she walked down Main Street in Mk. I know current political correctness prevents that now, but to this day we still tease Mom about her Disney Boyfriends

At MNSSHP we met a lot of the villans. I thought it would be fun to do the opposite of what most do and paid them compliments. The Queen of Hearts loved that we bowed to her and told her how beautiful her dress was and could we please trouble her for her autograph. Gov. Ratcliff was wowed by us when we told him we thought he was the best governor the colonies ever had. Very sweet to us! *LOL*

When we met Stitch, we told him that he was wild and crazy. He proceeded to pick his nose and wipe it on my 5 year old's head. And at Chef Mickey's, we asked the characters if they prepared the meal. Dale said he cooked the bacon and made the OJ. Chip said Dale didn't do anything and he cooked it all. We asked Mickey what Goofy was and he told us that Goofy is half dog/half human.

When I first saw Winnie the Pooh, I just about had a heart attack....I got so excited and DH just laughed at me. But when it was time for me to get my picture with him, I said, I have to hug Pooh! He kissed me on the cheek when I hugged him. I teased DH that Pooh thought he was my boyfriend. Many months later we ate at Crystal Palace and Pooh blew me a kiss! It is now an ongoing joke that Pooh IS my boyfriend....both times I've met him he's kissed me!!

This one is not mine, I actually read it on disboards, but I thought it was soooo cute I thought it should go in this thread. A lady and her daughter met Peter Pan one night when he saw the girl's light up shoes. He ran up to her and told her she had pixies in her shoes and she better let them out!

When I was at WDW this past summer my sister and I were walking in AdventureLand and all of a sudden I felt a hand on my shoulder and I knew it wasn't my sister. I got really scared for a second, then looked and saw it was Jafar! He escorted me all the way to Pirates of the Caribbean and bowed to me, then did the "Call me" sign so I asked for his phone number and he put his pointer finger to his mouth as if to say "Shhh..." It was hilarious! I thought it was one of those moments in the DVDs ... Well, before they decided to have the hosts show you around and not so much clips of interactions and crowd reactions.

My DS (4) met Lilo and Stitch at the Animal Kingdom. He had with him his plush Snoopy (about 11 inches high) Lilo stole it from him, and was not going to give it back, then Stitch grabbed it and continued to use it to wipe his nose on, my son thought all this was very funny...I'm not sure what Snoopy thought.

We often find it helpful for my son to have something to show the characters, like Snoopy or a toy car. This helps him focus, and also have a starting point. A lot of them react to Snoopy, Goofy was all hands on hips and indignant! We have pictures of Pluto playing with one of my sons toy trains on his big long snout. Plus having a little toy for my son to play with is great when I want to stop and have a sit down, he'll happily play away with that for 5 mins.

Chip stole my sons water bottle (the spray fan one) at Ohana breakfast then preceeded to spray anyone in a 10 table radius, I was a bit mortified, but everyone seemed to think it was funny (apart from one of the photographers, who scowled quite a bit)...I apologised to everyone a lot..which naturally Chip found funny too. So perhaps keep those spray things away from those pesky chipmunks.

I'm usually pretty shy around the characters too, but I've got some great ideas off here I'm going to try.

We have a small stuffed penguin we take with us everywhere (see my avatar) I've made him a mickey ears hat and the characters really love that. They really stop and stare.

I missed one of the best character interactions last trip. I'd gone up to the buffet and while I was there pluto visited our table and licked DH's (bald) head and made a big slurping noise!! That would have cracked me up seeing it.

One time we had great fun with Chip and Dale telling them what their names were in Dutch (Knabbel & Babbel).

My daughter loves the movie Peter Pan and I hoped we'd meet Captain Hook at the park since she loves him. She actually told me "I love bad guys!" No, she isn't leaving the house until she's 30.

Anyway, I figured she might be scared if she met him, so I told her to say "Tick Tock, where's the crock?" if she saw him. She did and he gestured fear and she laughed. It was great.

I'm posting this both to bump it and to tell y'all our best one.

It was my dw's and my first trip ever down there, and she really wanted to get a picture with Eeyore (one of her favorites). We headed over to Toontown and I snapped the pic...of course, Tigger was also in there, and I could see her face (the "we need one more pic" face). I think Tigger overheard me saying something like "I thought you just wanted Eeyore" and her reply (while grinning) was somewhere along the lines of "We need Tigger, too!"

Anyway, she gets up to Tigger, and he gets down on one knee and starts kissing her hand. I got ready to snap the picture when he rears back (still holding her hand with one hand) and strikes this pose that can be best described as what you might see at an opera when two lovers are about to depart, never to see each other again...my dw is his one and only love!

I almost couldn't take the picture I was laughing so hard.

I have a question. I've been taking notes and now know what to say to certain characters to get great, cute reactions from them, but then one character I really like to pose with whenever I go to the MK and locate him is, of course, Buzz Lightyear. :teeth: Now, my question is what should I say to him to get a cute reaction? I realize that the only answers I'll be getting back are silent ones, so what should I bring up to him? I'm just curious, and would really appreciate an answer. Thanks. :teeth: :hyper:

I would point behind him and yell "It's Zurg!!! Oh No!!!"

I can remember my mum being held hostage by captain hook :sunny: pretty funny!

the first time i went to disney was when i was four and i can remember carrying my teddy everywhere and i was scared of all the characters except Pochahontas  as i was the last one in the queue i managed to get about 10mins worth of conversation about my teddy-bear, where i was from and my Pochahontas shirt!!!!

I can also remember my sister not letting go of Pluto after she got a last hug! we actually had to haul her off!!! Poor Pluto!!! :teeth:

Let me see if I can scan it in...the end result wasn't as funny as the antics, but I'll get it scanned. :badpc:

I've been reading these and they are giving me great ideas. But I don't get something....I thought that none of the characters talked? So I've been preparing to explain to DD that they don't. But so many of these posts indicate conversations with characters, or a character told them something, etc.

Do some of them actually talk or am I mis-reading these posts and the "conversations" were really hand gestures? Thanks!

Only human characters like the princesses talk. When people are saying any other character told them something, they are referring to gestures. :) You'd be surprised what you can communicate without saying a word!
