What else to say to the characters???

Last year at WDW, my friend and I ate breakfast at the Cape May Cafe. When Minnie Mouse came to the table, I asked "where's the boyfriend?" And she made a gesture like he was out playing golf.

Also, when we "met" Aladdin and Jasmine, they asked me where I am from and I said "Albuquerque, New Mexico" and they talked about how they live in the dessert too. It's fun to interact with the characters!

I love this thread! I'm only on page 31 :lmao: but have had a few ideas:

Come up behind Capt Hook making a tick tock sound.

Ask Suzy and Perla if they can repair your ball gown.

Are the aristocats still there? I thought there was a rule that said no cats at Disney? If they're still there I'd warn Mickey to watch out for the cat!

Funniest reaction I have seen was when saw Stitch in Hollywood Studios run up to a little girl about 5-6 and grabbed her soft toy that she had in her arms, 'Angel', Stitches girlfriend, and then hugged the toy tightly and run all round the Animation Studio building showing everybody else including, Mary Poppins, Mickey, Minnie, Jafar and pinocchio, and proudly showing them all his 'girlfriend'. The little girl was really shocked , but Stitch came back and hugged her and handed her back Angel, and then twirled the little girl around. All the adults in the area were laughing at Stitch!!:rotfl2:

One trip we ran into Cruella. While standing by her side for a picture I tilted my head and whispered "I have puppies". That got her started! She took my hand and started to lead me away, saying "take me to them".

Having college-aged kids, I don't even bother. I assume the kids playing Mickey and such will all assume that I'm old, not cool and lame.

- "Old...not geyser old, like Grandpa, but you are OLD!"
- "Not cool. Do you think that makes you cool? You're not cool."
- "Why are you doing that. It's lame."

Also, be horrified by me:
- "NO! Oh, my God, did you tell anybody you want to use floppy disks?! Oh, my God, Mom, don't tell anyone else that."

So I just get my picture done and move along.

In addition to being old, not cool and lame...I'm not that clever, anyway.

IN reference to kids getting squished or poked by characters, please see this.

Unfortunately, it's a hazard of having a big nose.

As for other things to say, I had a great interaction with Alice in December. I'm a big proponent for carrying a GIGANTIC pen for autographs. The gloved characters love them and the face characters remark on the size and usually have a good go.

Anyway... we met Alice and the White Rabbit near the Tea Cups and I pulled out my 18"+ pen. White Rabbit thanked me and then it was Alice's turn. She remarked on the size and asked me if I had dribbled some of the 'drink me' potion on it. I told her that I did seeing that someone left a bottle outside our room and I just couldn't drink it straight away - I had to see what it would do first. And she agreed it was the right thing to do. I also told her I'm glad I tested the pen first - had I drank it, I might become a mile high and get kicked out of the parks (courtroom scene). She asked if I had any of the mushrooms to counteract the size and I told her know. Then she told me where to find some.

:teeth:

The Queen of Hearts is awesome if you curtsey and say, "YES!! Your MAJESTY!"

We also had the opportunity to meet Flynn Rider at MVMCP this year. There was a young guy (~14) that was a BIG Flynn fan. He had the satchel and a shirt. But what was hidden in the satchel was priceless.

He had hand drawn a wanted poster of Flynn.

That's what he was going to have autographed by Rapunzel and Flynn. Flynn was very excited that the kid went to so much trouble. He stopped EVERYONE and EVERYTHING going on in the room and made an announcement. "EXCUSE ME EVERYONE! LOOK!!!! They FINALLY got my nose right!"

The kid was over the moon!

Things I learned from my last trip:

If you have a bow somewhere on your shirt make sure to show Alice.

Ask the Mad Hatter for a joke, it won't disappoint you.

You may offend Vivia if you say you like Tinkerbelle.

Also if you wear a shirt with a character on it, you'll get a golden reacation form all the characters, one example is when my cousin wore a Cars shirt to the Buzz and Woody, they were jealous of Mcqueen and Mater. I wore a little mermaid tank top and every Princess I visted brought up Ariel in the conversation, Ariel herself was amazed by my shirt, she loved how they included Scuttel.

I guess this one is more of a what not to say, but it made for one of my favorite moments at WDW.

My mom, sister, and I were all meeting Tiana for the first time, and she recognized that my sister and I are college-aged, so she asked us what we were studying. I told her that I hadn't decided yet, and she told me to study biology or something like that, then I should try to stop frog dissections. My mom told her that in a lot of schools they use computer programs now, but Tiana was still worried. To calm her, my mom told her that it was ok because the frogs are just cartoons in the program. Silence followed, and then Tiana was horrified because, in her own words, she was once a cartoon frog! We all laughed it off and then got some really great pictures.

Another one for Jafar, straight out of Aladdin:

Jafar, Jafar, he's our man! If he can't do it, GREAT!

Don't knowif it's been mentioned already, but telling the Queen of Hearts that you've seen someone painting her roses red! My Mom did this on our last trip and she got so angry! It was very cute!! :rotfl:
