There are lots of things they could do, as noted, the change in reservation window directly is not one of them. However, they could institute a VIP system that would give waitlist priority, add fees for banking/borrowing and waive them for qualified points, etc. There isn't ever going to be enough they can do by simply adding to those who are qualified, they'd have to hurt those that aren't more to differentiate further. IMO the resale value of this equation is far overestimated. They don't want you to be able to sell, all they want is to sell retail as high as possible. In some cases they may go hand in hand but don't have to. Many other timeshares sell quite well when you can buy resale for free. I'm helping a friend as we speak acquire more bluegreen points where the party that's giving up the points paid $15K and paid off a loan just last year. He's giving them away AND paying for the transfer fee.It seems Disney really wants to discourage buying resale for obvious reasons, however, one of the perks of DVC is that it somewhat holds it’s value. If it becomes too difficult to resell a contract will it also hurt direct sales? Would Disney ever consider further restrictions on resale contracts such as eliminating the 11month window for home resort, or only allowing use of your points at your home resort?
