What DVC member benefits do guests get?

I'm going to SSR as a guest for a 4 night stay in early May and I'm wondering what DVC memeber benefits we will be able to take advantage of like discounts etc. Any ideas? Thanks!!

If you are staying with the member, you may be entitled to some of the discounts (the member will need to be with you). However, if you are renting a reservation from a member, you are not entitled to any DVC member benefits. You will be entitled to WDW guest benefits such as the right to use WDW transportation, the ability to send items to your resort that you purchase in the parks or DTD.

In order to get member discounts, the member usually has to present the blue membership card. Will the member be there with you to do that? If so, check the member perks booklet they give you at checkin for restaurant discounts. We usually find that we have discounts at a few of our favorite restaurants.

We're not going with our member friends. They just bought DVC after renting a few months ago and told us that their room key said DVC member on it (or something like that) during their rent stay and they got discounts and the like. I don't know if anything has changed since a few months back, but I was just wondering what we should or should not expect during our trip. Can DVC guests get the DDP? If we don't get dining discounts, maybe we should consider. Does anyone know? Thanks!

Guest can get the DDP if your friends put it on the reservation before you go.You must pay for it at check in.

AS for expecting anything else. It may or may not happen. Like others have said you will not have the blue membership card when asked for , so would not be able to get any member benefits.
