My husband INSISTS that's the meaning of the name Edward! But the joke was on him. One of our first trips to Epcot, we went and looked up our surnames in England (both of us are mostly Irish) and his last name means "Bald Man" in Gaelic. Here in the states, there aren't many people with his last name, but it's as common as Smith over in Dublin. Makes me wonder how many bald men are running around that city. Book me a flight!

It means a total failure of imagination on my parents' part.
I hate my name. It doesn't even sound...pretty. Why not Elizabeth, or Rose, or Alexandra. or if they liked the whole Lori thing, they could've named me Laura, like laura Ingalls Wilder, my hero. No, they had to name me Loriann. I guess I should be grateful that they didn't name me something like Agatha or Prudence.
