Just wondered how people decorate their kitchen. Ok, so I am nosey!

I have oak cabinets with crackled porceline knobs with almond countertop and almond appliances. The colors in the wall paper are country blue, mauve, and green on cream background. I decorate with amish type accessories. I have oak wood floors and a center island with a butcher block top. One corner has a basket tree filled with Longeberger baskets. I love country. I must clarify that it is not crafty country.

So what does your kitchen look like?:Pinkbounc

White! I have white cabinets with gray knobs, white tile backsplash and counters and grayish flooring.

My cabinets are oak (no knobs), my counters and appliances are cream. My walls are painted like you see in the Olive Garden. Kind of a dark tan, ragged, old look. I have wine bottles filled with pasta and stuff on top on one cabinet. The other cabinets have baskets (wire and wicker) with silk flowers (mostly different color hydrangeas and ivy) in them (burgundy, green, mauve). My kitchenette has hydrangeas in the seat covers (Martha Stewart from K-mart). I'm not sure what you'd call the style, but it's warm and homey feeling. Like you want to sit down, eat and talk.

Our kitchen is decorated in early CLUTTER!!

We have an "open" kitchen, with neutral colors. Linoleum floors, Formica countertops, oak cabinets with "oatmeal" ceramic knobs and antique brass centers. Almond side-by-side refrigerator and oven. Stainless steel sinks.

Pretty bland, I guess . . .

I love our kitchen! :)

we did it just like the model home

here is the link to kitchenmodel home kitchen

it looks exactly like that except the decorationing(like all the little things) are different...hehe!

Wellllllllllllllllllllllllll, being of strong Puritan stock, we do all of our cooking in an open fireplace. The room gets a littttttttttttttttttle hot, but the experience takes us back to our roots;) ;) ;) ;)

It's blue, yep, very blue... blue walls, blue ceiling, blue curtains, blue table, blue chairs... I did manage to get my mom to leave the floor white tile and the cabinets are a lovely oak with bronze handles but everything else is blue...

LOL i asked my mom and all she said was "its a large kitchen with an island" lol. Im not all that great with discribing rooms so i'll let you guys imagine what you want it to look like! :p

I love reading about everyone's kitchen decor!

My kitchen is open to the breakfast room and family room, at the back of the house. The whole space is painted a deep, marine blue and then all the trim is white. I love blue and white!

The kitchen has white cabinets with brass knobs. The sink has a brass faucet. The countertops are white formica edged in oak. The floors are also oak. And my favorite part of the kitchen is the backsplash tile, which has fruit on it. I also have lots of accessories that are blue and white, or have fruit.

The whole space has lots of windows to let in the light.

When I first moved to my condo every wall was white. Boring!

The kitchen has almond appliances, cabinets and counters with a floor that is cream plus touches of peach. I painted the walls a peach tone. My stove burners are covered with brass plates and I have a brass veggie basket hanging in one corner.

Right now mine has tons of medium oak cabinets, a large center island with my cooktop, white ceramic tile with a taupe vein going through it (looks like marble), and wallpaper which has green vines with small cranberry, blue and yellow assorted fruits. On my windows and patio door I had valances made to look like awnings, and they are a white, green, blue, yellow and cranberry small plaid pattern.

I am gettting ready to re-do the kitchen though with kind of a Tuscany theme. I'm going to attempt a Venetian plaster technique on the walls and the colors will be more in the warm golds, terracottas and mossy greens. I hate to get rid of valances, but I have no choice. I'm still working on my master bath, so the kitchen will have to wait a couple of months.

My kitchen is open design, white cabinets, we just put in new countertops, a corianne look to it. The floor is a white linoleum with a touch of blue. Not the greatest...but someday we hope to tile everything. My favorite part is the walls. They too were white, but it was too much white for me, so, with the help of my mom, we painted a base coat of a terra cotta color, then on top, in 2 to 3 shades darker, we sponge painted Mickey head icons in a scattered pattern. I can't even tell you how cute it is! Most people don't even realize it's Mickey, because it's such a suttle look, and it's open to the living and dining room. My DH is a saint! Of course, if he didn't like it, it wouldn't have been too hard to paint over.
We have 2 big windows, but both are pretty private views, so I chose not to put up curtains. I love natural light. We put a shelf over the biggest window and I have plants and my Mickey tea pot up there.

A MESS!!!! (Deb stole my line.....)

Anyway, what mine looks like will be a moot point, hopefully within the year. I've got the original fake butcher-block counter, dark wood cabinets and (yuck), the original 20 year old floor!!!! Once I figure out what I'm doing, the floor's the first to go!

Maybe then I'll pick it up more....

My kitchen, dining area & family room are all very open w/catherdral ceilings. The kitchen cupboards are almond w/oak trim and brass handles. Teh counter tops are deep burgundy, the fridge is almond, stove & dishwasher are almond w/black fronts, curtain is burgundy, blue & green, floor is oak colored pergo, walls are taupe/mauve.

I love my kitchen. It's very southwest. The countertops are white tile, some of the tiles have geccos, kokopellis and native american designs on them, the floor is beige tile. It has lots of windows, skylights and a really high ceiling. It's very open and clean-looking. By the refrigerator is an area that has 3 windows (kind of like a bay window, but it goes all the way to the floor). DH built a water garden to fit in that space and it's covered with flowering plants. There's a spitting frog and a water spout to circulate the water. Someday I'll post a picture, he really did a good job. The only thing I don't like about it is the sink, it's a white ceramic duel sink. I'd rather have just one tub. But I won't complain.;)

Wow--this has been so great to read this thread as we are in the throes of remodeling our kitchen and I love reading everyone's ideas. Harley Chick--why would you rather have one large sink? Just curious....

Fun topic.

Following our budget remodel we now have natural colored maple cabinets with natural knobs. Walls are a soft creamy yellow and countertops are formica medium green with lots of speckles that look like granet.

Floor is laminate venetian walnut planks and appliances are white. Lots of recessed lights. I have put yellow and blue and greens in there. All my favorite colors.

Instead of tile for back splash I got a set of cat dessert plates (4) and put them up with hangers between the outlets. Looks great and only cost 14.00 on sale. Plus, I can use them if need be.

We love our new kitchen.

Our kitchen is very light and airy with all white cabinets with white knobs and white crown molding at the top. The countertops are pale gray and we have white tile backsplash. The floors are light oak laminate.

We have a stainless double sink, white appliances (including double ovens for when the baking urge strikes), and a built-in desk in the corner.

We have white wallpaper with pastel colored squiggles on it and a matching border with whimsical pastel teapots and teacups on it.

My only real complaint about my kitchen is the size of my pantry - way too small and dark - sure wish I knew how to fix that but I fear I will have to get a new house first!

Above my cabinets I have displayed my collection of cookie jars - mostly Disney :)

I love my kitchen - it is always a sunny welcoming spot in my house!!

I do not love my kitchen but I guess its ok. My walls are yellow cabinets are yucky almond mica with counters to match my cutain is sheer white with pockets with flowers in them (silk flowers of coarse) I have two pottery barn white shelves up on one wall and on top of the cabinets are bottles, baskets ect... on my counter is not much just my micro and coffee maker (on teh counter you can not see when just peeking in. And only a colbolt blue vase with silk white roses on the other. (nothing on the last one)
