I've been reading threads about moving and staying and building etc. I was just wondering what do your floor plans look like if you have access to it and how long are you planning on living there???

Here is a link to mine

where the kids rooms are, there is another bathroom that was added to the house. I also have double oven in the kitchen. I've been doing some painting this week and the more I do to it, the more that I want to stay. 2800 sq. feet (that's what it ended up being after all the additions and stuff) along with a half car garage, I don't think I'll be moving anytime soon. It's plenty house for 4. The kids (a boy and a girl have their own play space and their own bathrooms. This house may really be a keeper :thumbsup2

That's nuts...I just built a 1500 sq foot home that cost me as much as your 2700 sq ft one will (abd my home and comparable models have gone up in price by $100k)! I say do it! Here you'd pay upwards of $600k for that home.

I wanna move to Texas... :)

Muziqal, wanna cry, that's what they are building it for now. I only paid $200,000 for it two years ago!!!!!!

Ours is very similar to Mr Slydell's. Things are arranged a little differently, but basically the same, with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs, and on the main level an eat in kitchen, laundry, family, living, dining rooms and a study . We also have a full, finished basement, with an office for my DH, a playroom with a ping pong table and fold-up basketball thingy, a rec room with a foosball table, a kitchenette, and a full bathroom.

It's in a "master planned community", which means bike/walking paths, pools, and a board that sticks their noses into everyones business. That's good and bad, kind of like the DIS... ;) :teeth: :rotfl:

We hope to be here until our kids are grown, but of course that is subject to change. It's a wonderful place to raise a family.

this is ours:

looks small in pic..it is actually wider/longer than it appears here - and ours is not brick.

the floor plans show many options - we have most except for 2nd floor bonus above the living/dining room.

First floor: have the optional morning/sunroom off the back of kitchen. Love my sunroom! The front living room is actually our study/office.

Second floor: our "owner's bedroom" is the one far right with the spa tub against the back wall - love the sitting room area in master bedroom - we live up there at night - not sure why we have a living room.

we are also in a planned community....has its ups and downs...

I couldn't buy a shack around here for the price you are paying for brand new homes.

I am jealous.

Well, the house we are in now is 60 years old so no floor plan but basically it is has a lr/dr/kit/fr/br/bath on the main level, 2 huge bedrooms up with a walk in attic and a finished basement with a large bedroom, fr/laundry and bath.

Our new house was a custom build so no floor plan either--you walk in the front door and to the right is the formal lr/dr, straight is the stairway, left and down the hall a bit is a LARGE laundry room. Behind the stairway is the kitchen and off the kitchen is a family room. There are 3 bedrooms and a sitting room up and a finished basement with a family room/bath/bedroom/storage room and an extra room that we are using as a Lego room. Oh, and there is a 1/2 bath on the main and a full bath up and a bath off the master. I have 2 HUGE walk-in closets in the master that are going to be just lovely.

Same here, that price is ridiculous I wanna move to Texas as well, just the slight problem about a green card though that will stop us :sad2:

Claire ;)

My dh works for the builder of the plan that I showed you all. Houses are pretty affordable here in Texas. I mean you can get 5000 sq. feet for $380,000 with them and that's with the 24 foot ceilings and all of that. That's entirely to much house for me! I'm quite cozy in my home. I've gotten so used to the 12 foot ceilings that are in the whole house, now when I walk into a two story and the ceilings are low, it's like I feel stifled!

You can move here...................Ya know you want to pixiedust:

We signed the contract for this house 2 years ago.

We are hoping it will be done by winter. Don't go by the price listed, the website is pretty old & the starting price was the base for the smallest home. Add on the basement, 2 car garage etc. & the price goes up pretty quick. I'm hpoing it will be out last move.

This is my home. Although the front of my house looks different then the photo. I have a front porch with a brick front on my home. We bought this house after it was already finished, but because it was a "spec" home they put in a lot of upgrades that we did not end up paying for. Although the next house I buy will have a larger kitchen!

We opted or I should say hubby opted for the bathroom 4 upstairs in bedroom 5 and we opted for the bonus room so the living downstairs wouldnt open to the 2nd floor. Neither of us care for all the wasted space when the downstairs is open all the way up. With the bonus room added we're right at 4300 square feet.

Well I see its not gonna take you directly to our model once you get there like I had hoped. Anywho, when you get there click on the left on the model called "The Ranchette", thats us.

The house we just signed papers on is 3165 sq ft. Downstairs has the living, dinning, study, kitchen, breakfast, and master bedroom and bath. Plus a half bath. Upstairs has a large game room, three bedrooms and two baths. Plus a little room hidden in one of the bathrooms that is about 8x8. It has a detached garage and a pool. The owners are custom home builders so the place is beautiful. It is 22 years old but everything has been redone. We got it for $245,000, which is good for this area. When DH gets home I will try to get him to post pictures.

Here's mine - 2165 sq ft (no basement) - 4 bedrooms (actually 1 more den/office) LR, FR, DR, eat-in kitchen (galley style), 2 full baths and laundry room. One story, MB separate from others on back of house with access to the pool. 12-14 ft ceilings in living area and MB. Just perfect for DD and I. There is no wasted/unusable space in this house. I love it!!! Other pics. I actually settled on this house three years ago yesterday and the price has increased from $177K to $330K. Crazy FL housing prices - I have invested about $30K in home improvements. I love my house!!!
