I know your dog doesn't actually "call" you anything (unless he or she is highly gifted :rolleyes1 ) but what does your dog know you by? I ask because my aunt thought it was really strange when I told my dog to take her toy to daddy. She picked up her toy and took it straight to my dad. My dog knows my parents as "Mama" and "Daddy" because I lived with them when I got her. I'm "Susie" to my dogs. I thought it was strange that my aunt thought it was strange. :)

So, what does your dog "call" you?

I'm "Mommy". DH is "Daddy". My mom is "GranGran". And yep, all 3 of our dogs know exactly who is who and responds accordingly.

And yep, we're DINHK'S. :rotfl2:

I'm "Sister." When we got her, I was only 20 and really didn't want to be called "Mommy"! So my mother became "Mama," which naturally made me the dog's "sister."

I was just mom, with my daughter's dogs, I'm grandma. My children tell me that is as close as I'm going to get for a long while. :woohoo:

Dash knows us all by our first names. He is DD13's dog, and that felt wayyyyyy to weird to have her call herself a mom to anything and there is no way I am grandma :lmao:

Actually he knows us more by "My ____", fill in our first names. I will ask him where "my B" is and he takes off to find DD13.

We just got him last sunday but so far I am mommy, dh is daddy, Matthew is Matthew and Rachel is Dida, that is what Matthew calls Rachel:lmao:

I'm Mommy, DH is Daddy and when my dad was alive he was Big Daddy.

i'm mama, DH is daddy, and DD is called by her first name. my in-laws, who live next door, are mimi and paw-paw (just as they are to DD, lol). based on the responses so far, perhaps your aunt is the strange one? (JK, lol).

I'm mom, but when I say, "Where's daddy?", dh says "I'm not his dad, we're just really good friends!"

Our dog isn't smart enough to know us by any name at all . Took him forever to learn his own name, let alone figure out what we're called ;) needless to say he has a very limited vocabulary. :rolleyes1 But he's happy happy and very predictable, which is probably most important. Bet no one's surprised to hear that he's a lab paw:

We are mommy and Daddy. We have kids too who call our dog their brother!

I am surprised. Our Lab looks like Einstein next to our Frenchie.:rotfl2: Oh and the Lab knows me as Mommy. And definately knows my dd by her name as if we mention it she sits right up ready to eat. (She is the one that feeds her)

Well I already knew that. ;) When I got my first Boston, she thought I had gotten a pig. :confused3 Just because she snorted a lot didn't make her a pig.

I'm Mom or Mommy and DH is Dad or Daddy.

I would say mommy and daddy but I think the dogs would say slave and servant.

I'm mom and DH is dad. Both our dogs know their real names as well as the nicknames we have given them.

I'm mommy or momma and DH is daddy. DD is sister--or at least that is what the dog calls her.
