What does your change jar look like?

In my office at home I have the four WDW glasses from the 100 Years of Magic that McD's was offering (my DH bought the set for me). Two have change, one has $1s and $5s and the other has larger bills and "extra checks" from DH's work. I am going to have to take them to the bank pretty soon though because they are small and getting full. :teeth:

Empty! :teeth: We are leaving for Disney Friday! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Our change jar is the large Disney juice container, with a hole cut out in it for deposits. And, I have taken a Tinkerbell pin and put it in right below the hole. Nothing gorgeous, but it works! ::yes::

Like one of the previous posters, mine is a Disney popcorn bucket, except from Animal Kingdom. It shows Mickey and Minnie on safari. The "seed money" came from the former "sister slander jar", where my DD's dropped their fines for calling each other names. That got pretty full at one time:rolleyes:

My bucket isn't as full as I'd like it to be either--I use my Disney Visa whenever possible!

I cut a slot in the lid of an empty Crystal Light container and put a big mickey cut-out around the container. Unfortunately...(or not) it's full and the plastic isn't strong enough so I think I'm moving up to the popcorn container! (Much more capacity!!)

We use a 5 gallon water bottle for our silver change and bills, and a glass jar for our pennies.

DS and DD each have a blue plastice piggy that they are saving in, and they are almost full!!! I need to go get new banks for them!! They get to spend this money on what ever they want. It is amazing how well they learn to budget their own money!!!

I can't wait to see how much we have saved for our vacation in November.

We are going to wait to a couple of weeks before the trip to roll and count our savings.

Mine is a glass jug with a wooden top I picked up at Michaels. I glued the top on at a slight angle so I could slip money in, but not take it out!
I then glued two black circles to the top and a big black ball for it's nose. I then painted on the lid "Mickey"eyes. It has some stickers on it and letters that say Micket Mouse Fun Money. If I knew how to post pics I'd do that, but I don't :(

oh yeah...it's pretty empty right now too! LOL

I have two:

1. A little white pig that I put quarters and nickles in
2. A quart version of the big 5 gallon water bottles that holds pennies and dimes. Quarters and nickles won't fit in the hole.

Not sure how much they hold yet. I plan on taking it to the grocery store to cash it in the day before we leave. If I have it in my hand before then it will get spent.::yes::

All this creativity puts my big blue crayon bank to shame! Then again, if we could ever fill that 5-ft monster, we'd have one heck of a deluxe WDW trip!

For all of you who are leaving for WDW soon, have a safe and magical trip.

I have a 3 foot plastic beer bottle, but when half full it weighed a ton and took forever to count and roll. Now I use an old Disney juice bottle with the characters raised around the sides. I empty it each month, sort and roll, excahnge for dollars at the bank and place the bills in the large beer bottle. I usually get about 50-65 per month and it is easier to deal with the smaller jar than the larger bank, imho.

A 5 gallon cat litter bucket that my MIL gave to me. Still not sure why she did. Anyway, I cut a slit in the top large enough for the change and folded bills. Since you can't see into it, the family thinks it is change only, but I have been putting a dollar a day into it. It will be a nice surprise when the kids get to open it up later this year for our next trip.

I am a "paper money hider" too. DH doesn't know that I empty our wallets of singles every week and put those in, plus the $100 per month in $20s.

The WDW 25th Anniversary Celebration cookie tin that was sold with a bag of Nestle Toll House chocolate chips back in 96.

I have a 3-foot tall Coca-Cola plastic bottle from Ice Station Cool in Epcot. I've been saving change in it for a year, and the change is only 8-10 inches deep. So, I still have a way to go to fill it! :)

What does your change jar look like?

Empty... :(

My official change collector is a popcorn tin that has Mickey on the front, my grandma got it for me with popcorn in it a long time ago. When I go to the bank I put the change in large mason jars because I'm afraid the tin will set off the metal detector at the bank

Mickey tin was half full when I took the change last week, and it was quite a bit!

Ours is a 5 gallon water cooler jug (glass) and is quite heavy on its own.

At one point we had it a little over 1/3 full.

We decided on a short notice trip to WDW and took it all to the bank.

We had nearly $1,200.00 in it!

We have never been as successful. Last time we only had about $200.00

I need to start saving bills also. Just have to think where to hide them?

We have the coin sorters so we put the change right in there and then get rolls from the bank. The roll slips right in-very simple. :sunny:

We use a pickle jar,the small glass jar.We can always count on when it gets to the top it is between 70-80.00 worth of money!
We bring it to the bank and cash it in about every month sometimes every other month.

the case we take to care everything into the parks which is really a camcorder case....however it only has about .50 in it right now so I better get saving!

we have 2 BF doesnt put change away unless he can see the jug...so we have a small one mason jar in the kitchen...and then a 2-3 ft crayon in the bedroom...
When the mason jar gets full (about 30 $) then we dump that into the crayon and start from scratch...I've also gotten a way to trick BF into giving me money for the jar...since he can be stingy with his change....when I have off if he asks me to go get him coffee I tell him that is fine-BUT I get all of his change on the counter and the change from the money that he gives me to go to starbucks...He he he...he hasnt caught on...but hey its for a good cause!!!!
