Everyone keeps asking my DS (including me) what he wants for Christmas and his bday (also in Dec.) and he says nothing.
I need ideas because I know he won't be happy if he actually gets nothing.

Sound like my house. I have a 14 yr old DS who has a birthday in December as well.

My son said nothing. I am getting him an ipod charger, an xbox game, a xbox live card, some clothes and he needs a new bike--so I got him a bmx bike.

For his birthday I was going to give him an xbox game (we're low key on birthdays--however he does get to go out to eat and pick his own cake). However, his bike just fell apart today so he may be getting the bike early so he can get to school on time.

Mine is getting the new Legend of Zelda DS game, an Ipod, Itunes card, WII points card.

My 14 y/o son has a December 21st birthday and then there's Christmas.

He has only asked for a new XBox console (his is dying) and some different games to go with it. When I push him for some other suggestions, he has none. He absolutely does not want clothes for Christmas (a necessity for him and not a "present") nor does he want the sonic toothbrush for a gift (the dentist recommended it).

So, I'm out of ideas too.

Have a 15yr old girl with same problem, here are some suggestions:

I Home
Subscription to magazine (maybe a gaming one)
Season Pass for Amusement Park/Water Park close by
Flip Video Camera (check Amazon, they have them for 89.00 on and off)
Basket full of favorite candy, snacks
Movie Gift card
Sweatshirt from school, favorite College. vacation spot
DVDs
Sports cards

Even though they are teenagers, they like silly things too. On another thread someone suggested the Marshmellow shooter, nerf gun etc., snowball maker, snowball shooter

I got my daughter a frog humidifier(she will love it), geometry for dummies, pig card game, Brownie pan with all edges. These will supplement the larger gifts.

They get tougher and more expensive as they age for sure.

Ny nephew is same age. He wants black converse high tops, t shirts and his step mom suggested a GC to Hot topic.

I wish my son had said "nothing".

He wanted (and got) an Xbox 360 - with that Call of Duty bundle, thing.

I also replaced his Geir that got taken, when it was mailed back from WDW.

Does he wear cologne?

DS14 has asked for Nerf guns and Itunes gift cards.

My sixteen year old DS hasn't mentioned much, either. All he's asked for are weights and Whose Line is it Anyway DVDs. I'm not sure what else we'll get him.

My DS 15 wants a laptop, a capture card, Turtle Beach head set, a "12 month", a "3 month" (so he can change his gamer tag) and 1800 microsoft points.

All of the above is for a COD4 - 2 XBOX game!

Aaahhhh what happened to Atari? All you needed was a joystick!

He also wants ankle weights (he's a basketball player) and "wife beaters" (yes, that is what the kids call sleeveless shirts!!).

My son has a birthday coming up (he will be 13 though), as well as Christmas. Some of the gifts he is getting are (and these are a combination of birthday AND Christmas gifts) :

DSi
Digital Camera w/ accessories & case (big birthday gift)
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Bowser's Inside Story DS
Band Hero PS2
30 Great Party Games Wii
Pajama Pants
.....and others that I can't remember. I have been shopping and wrapping as I buy for months....

Too funny we are also doing the Call of Duty and a Turtle Beach headset.

DS13 has asked for...

Cell Phone ~ Apparently he is the LAST kid in school without one. (I caved & bought it....ONLY because I needed him to have it)

Xbox ~ Not happening
Hoodies
Jeans
Basketball Shoes ~ (Does anyone know what's "cool" these days? I'm not sure what kind to buy)
A Snuggie :lmao:
Apples to Appples
Starbucks GC

Brownie pan with all edges.

I actually think my DS would really like this - I might grab one :thumbsup2

So far my DS hasn't mentioned anything. I am getting him a Flip video camera and an Ipod dock radio. I told him that he's going to need to make a list of suggestions soon or I will just wing it.

I tell ya, we went from a list a mile and 1/2 long in the past years and now not much too. DS14's list is really short this year. He wants PS3 games: Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Need for Speed Shift, running shoes and an ipod running chip. That's it.
Other ideas we have are to order him a Fathead for his room (his football team), his favorite sports team merchandise, and ties (he has to wear one for school everyday and the boys wear a lot of fun ones).

He loves to run~ runs cross country and is training for a 1/2 marathon in the spring, so we'll try to find more with that. Otherwise, some food gift cards in his stocking would make him happy.

He attends a private school, loves it and knows it is expensive for us, so he is content with that he told us. We were touched!

Thanks for all the ideas! I'll run some of them by him and see what he says.

I have 13 and 15 year old sons. My oldest is really into guitars and anything he can use with them. My youngest is really into Disney memorabilia. So, there is a big difference. One thing they both have in common is they love music. If he doesn't have an IPod, I would suggest one of those. An IHome for that is also a great suggestion. Those are wonderful. Both of my kids love gift cards to Barnes & Noble (music or books with that) and ITunes. If he has XBox or Wii, there are always games for that. Guitar Hero is huge. If there is something in particular that interests him, what about books about that particular thing.

Oh, and my sons also like posters. Sometimes we frame them, sometimes we don't. They both have a poster that really needs a blacklight which reminds me...that is something I should actually get them!

Here's what my 14 year old DS is getting (not all from DH and me, from aunt and grandparents, too):

Several video games including Star Wars Battlefront II and Mariocart Wii
Renewal to his Model Railroading Magazine
Sock and Underwear
Pajamas
Long sleeved shirts
Digital money counting jar
Train calendar for his room
Book on Pixar animation
Up DVD
Target Gift Card
Graphics card for the computer (to play his games)

I think that should about cover it!
