What does this even mean?

Not one single person protesting was born when the border changed. Name the day that border 'crossed' over them, lol.

I guess it's a byproduct of being from a 'young' country but I don't consider the things that happened to my ancestors as things that have happened to me. Plus since I'm part of the 'melting pot' we call America my ancestors come from all parts of the globe and were definitely as odds with each other at different points in history. I'd never be able to determine which 'side' I was supposed to be on, lol.

with this logic, the redcoats should be coming back any day now. Remember, we're still under british rule because we once belonged to them.

It means that they think that southwestern parts of California and New Mexico were once part of Mexico and was taken away from them.

That's because California and New Mexico actually were a part of Mexico and it was taken away from them. You can draw what conclusions from that you like (or no conclusions at all) but as a matter of history, that is what actually occurred.

Right, but they were never taken away from these people. The borders never crossed them. They crossed their great great great great grandparents. And now they think they have the rights to the nation that now inhabits that land?

So by that logic those in Florida should have the rights on Spanish citizens, and as a Virginian I should have the rights of a British citizen.

It's flawed thinking, considering borders change many times over many generations. And also the fact that most of those who consider themselves Mexicans are of the Spanish heritage that raped and plundered Mexico. Only about 20% of Mexicans are of native descent.

About 29% are full-blooded (more or less) natives. Another 60% or so are of mixed native and Caucasian ancestry. Full blooded Europeans are only about 9%.

It's funny how people complain about the Mexicans wanting to return to land they had in the 1840s, yet the Jews are considered entitled to land they lived on in the first century, no matter how much inconvenience and even danger to the world it creates.
