hi

please can somone help!

I am planning on having the 6 hour disney photography package.

I am having a large reception back in the UK after the wedding and am having a professional photographer there - he has said that if disney will give me a high resolution CD containing all of the images, he will be able to put them in the album alaong with the evening photos.

Does anyone know what type of things are included in this package with regard to photos and albums etc :Pinkbounc

I beleve the CD is extra but I have no idea how much it is. All that I know is included would be 1 proof book with every shot (approx 500 is what I was told) and I finished book of your choice - there are 3 options and I think you get to pick the 50 shots you want in whichever book you choose.

Hope that helps.

there seems to be some confusion over the high res CD for UK brides. Ordinarily, the high res is $1000 (!) but several people have mentioned that UK brides are usually given it at no cost. Maybe it is worth asking Disney, reminding them that you are from the UK.

Otherwise, I believe the low res CD is less than $100 - it's suitable for mailing but not printing so would that work?

Edited to say - have you thought about an external photographer rather than Disney? I and lots of other brides are having Randy Chapman (www.chapmanphotography.com) and he includes a high res CD in his standard package price. We are having the standard 3 hour package, with all photo's at 6x4" (usually 100's and 100's of pics, heard of 400+ for some people!) in a proof album with the high res CD for $575. You can also add extra hours @ $200 (but don't quote me on this price).

UK Brides do not get the high res CD for free - i think this was something that use to happen but when i asked DPS a few weeks ago she said this wasnt the case! and that it was $1000!!

WOW! Now I'm double glad that we've booked Randy, as we'll get the high res CD plus hundreds of proofs for much less than Disney's CD by itself!!

Also, something else to think about - how long does it take Disney to supply the proofs and high res CD (if bought)? ie will they be ready to take back to UK with you, as I know Randy takes less than a week for UK brides.

Can anyone help?

I'm trying to look at the website chapmanphotography as I'm getting married in disney and everyone seems to be recommenind these but it keeps requesting a password to look at the pages

I'm really sorry, I should have mentioned it's ariel

Also, don't forget that you need to add Florida sales tax to Randy's prices (6.5% at the moment I believe). If you like what you see with Randy, you should email or phone him (he may take a few days to answer your email, but he sounds a very nice person when he gets back to you). I've heard sooooo many brides say how lovely he is to work with, and as well as so many shots (in B&W and colour) AND the high res CD, I booked him with over 15 months to go!!!!!

I'm looking to get married in 2008 but dont have a date with disney yet so how can i book him and I then dont get my dates with disney that I want?

I booked Randy before I had booked my wedding with Disney. He pencilled me in and I gave him the deposit and he said he would move it if I couldn't get my original date. To be honest I was willing to work around Randy as his photos are amazing, so if he was booked I was gonna rearrange the wedding date just so I could get him!

thanks, I'm going to discuss it with my partner tonight and I've already emailed them so when they get back to me with prices etc I might think about booking him up and working round them

I totally agree with summer-caitlin - We really wanted Randy, so we paid him a large deposit to hold our first date, but I also told him of our second choice (I don't think times matter as he usually only does one wedding per day). He said that he'll change our booking if necessary when Disney confirm our day. He deals with a lot of Disney weddings so he totally understands their policy of not confirming dates until later than most other places. I would let him know a couple of dates that you will be requesting with Disney (1st and 2nd choice), pay him the deposit and let him do the rest!

thanks

I'm getting more excited about it all now that I can actually look at planning things and this website has inspired me so much

Glad you're getting excited - it's a wonderful time, altho' slightly stressful at times! I am a Big time planner so all the uncertainty of dates/venues etc of Disney almost drove me crazy, but now I've learnt to 'go with flow' as there's nothing I can do to change anthing and besides, hundreds of other people have been/are going thru the same thing! I'm quite chilled at the moment, but I'll probably be ranting when it gets to the 8 months date and I don't get what I want! :teeth:

thats they only problem i'm worried about as we want to book our holiday as soon as the brochures are released next year but are then worried incase we dont get a date within that time scale. We are saving already for it so want to spread the cost as much as we can as we dont like putting anything on credit so want to be able to know how much we need and when we need it!

Are you going anywhere else for your honeymoon or staying in disney?

we booked ours with Virgin as soon as the brochure was out (approx 17 months before we go) and we've got 2 nights at Royal Pacific Universal, 9 nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge, then 5 nights on I-Drive. We've requested our date about 2 or 3 days into our stay at Disney, with our 2nd date 2 days later. I think you'd be very, very unlucky not to get ANY date/time during a week's stay.
