What does everyone think of this Disney Pin Code "Lottery?"

Disneynewby -- part of the reason I am not surprised you got SSR is mainly that SSR is such a large resort.
If it were me booking this offer I would not plan on getting a monorail resort. I am going to guess that for deluxe resorts, those on the monorail loop are first to be booked.
Even for free upgrades PIN offers we read about, we usually see OKW or SSR.
It is not those resorts are less desirable. There are just a lot more rooms to be filled.
The travel to and from the parks with SSR is really not that bad.
I think you will be happy with a 1 bedroom there.

Me again!

I can't help but think that this pin code is a way for Disney to fill resorts that are less desirable.

BINGO. To me, this is the only thing that makes sense.

Less desirable meaning less popular--or the bigger ones--which is another way of saying relatively less in demand.

Disney Newby,
A positive for SSR - there is a convenient wooded walkway that connects to Downtown Disney and the 1 Bedroom Suites provide alot of room and a great jacuzzi tub. Enjoy and have no regrets - You're Going To Disney!!!!

How do you get a pin for this lottery? Are they emailed to random people?

$199 for a 1bed is a fantastic deal! B/C you saved a bit off of what you would have had to pay for a MK resort and you will have in room laundry so you can economize the baggage, & lower $$ on on transportation [if you are flying] look into a rental car and save yourself the worry about transportation.

We always rent a car and have found it to be sooooo convenient! I see so many upsides to your reservation. If you feel like you got a lemon, make lemonade! Private time easily available, jacuzzi at the end of the day, quick breakfast and snacks at your fingertips, REAL coffee in the morning. :thumbsup2

Good score :goodvibes

I do not recall seeing this offer by email. After reading on these boards about the possibility of having a pin code offer that I was unaware of, I called and to my surprise, did have this offer. We were planning a short trip in November, no matter what, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to see if I had any discounts available.

I wish Downtown Disney and the jacuzzi were more appealing to me, but unfortunately, I'm not a shopper and don't ever use the jacuzzi tub we have at home (except for baths for a 2 and a 4 year old, but I'm sure our tub is a little smaller;) ) The kids will definitely love the ferry over to DD, so we'll check it out and maybe we'll even like it!:)

But we'll miss the ferry over to MK and watching the MK fireworks from the sandy beach at the Poly:sad1: We were lucky enough to stay there last year during mid December with a general public room only rate of 40% off:cool1: I truly debated whether to book an unknown deluxe for a great price or hold out in the hopes of future discounts being available in November.

Eager to try a different resort at a great rate! Who knows, maybe it will be our new favorite:thumbsup2
