what does everyone think about Target grocery prices?

I can usually find good deals on the meat at Target, but I haven't found any in the last few weeks. I find that the produce is sometimes cheaper than the grocery stores. I buy most of my items at the grocery stores and then buy the sale items at target.

Just went shopping at Target last night and was so happy with the prices on things we use everyday. The staples which are insanely expensive (to me) like Progresso Healthy Selects I think (one of my favorite souip- Mexican chicken tortilla) was the same price as it is ON SALE at Walmart. I was so pleasantly surprised I had just assumed Walmart had the best prices on everything I never even gave Target a try. I will be doing much more shopping there from now on.

Also the selection is alot better than WM - I got alot of Planters snack bags for a decent price- something I've never seen at WM- or even ShopRite- my other go to place.

And the mac and cheese is priced better than Walmart also! We go through these very quickly- the whole grain kind- so this was a Godsend for me to find them at this price not even on sale.

I have to admit I bought evey can of Mexican Tortilla Soup and Mac and Cheese they had. I try to stock up on these things as we seem to run out so quickly.

I am definitely a Target convert and wish I had discovered it sooner. I don't necessarily mind shopping at Walmart- but Target is much closer and I don't feel like I've run a marathon when I leave the store.:rotfl:

I just got back for a trip to WalMart. I could not believe my eyes.

And 8 oz WM brand of cream cheese was on sale ON SALE for $1.98.

Does anyone else think that grocery prices are WAAAAY out of whack? :scared1:

But they don't figure in food or gas when calculation inflation rates.

I buy paper goods and cleaning products at Target (I won't go into Walmart), the prices don't even begin to compare with what I'd have to pay in my local market, but they don't really sell food I buy. :confused3
