What does "Ciao" mean?

My friend (DestinyIslands) always says "Ciao AllisonDude!" What does it mean? I think it means "Bye" in a different language. :confused3
 
Thanks! So islands must be mexcian. Let's hope it isn't who I think it is....

lol, you cant say she's mexican for that. Its like people saying Hola or Aloha in VMK, they aren't always Mexican or Hawaiian. Its just fun to say
 
uh..... Hola is in spanish and Adios is in spanish. Ciao is italian or french I forgot which.

Adios means Good-Bye in spanish. Hola means Hello in Spanish. Ciao means Bye in spanish.

Dude...I used to live there. I think I know! (I look more arabic than mexican tho....)

I just had Spanish Class last semester. Ciao means bye in spanish. Maybe it means other stuff in other languages, but i know that it means "bye" in spanish.

ciao - an acknowledgment that can be used to say hello or goodbye (aloha is Hawaiian and ciao is Italian)

Thats what it says on the online dictionary.

Alos I would know. Lived in Mexico half my life.
 
Yes, ciao is Italian for hi or bye. Except for Ciao Bella, which is goooood gelato and sorbet :P.
 
too bad we can't say dzien dobry or do widzenia...i would be styling that..
 
i thought ciao was french...eh, im not good at different languages, never ask me about them.
