What does "Ciao" mean?

My friend (DestinyIslands) always says "Ciao AllisonDude!" What does it mean? I think it means "Bye" in a different language.

lol, you cant say she's mexican for that. Its like people saying Hola or Aloha in VMK, they aren't always Mexican or Hawaiian. Its just fun to say
