Planning ahead for our first trip in June.
My daughter is 3 almost 4 and loves dressing up, just wondering if most people put dressing up clothes on them during the day? Thought this would be great for pics but not sure how practical it is for rides etc?
Also I've got a 6 yr old son who isn't into dressing up so looks like just normal clothes for him I think.

yes yes yes - dressing up all the way for the kids at DLP - every day if they like :goodvibes. Its no problem on the rides, you might want to take any hoops out of the bottom of long skirts, either that or just have her wearing tights or shorts etc underneath, in case the hoop ends up lifting the skirt when she's sitting down and showing her underwear :rotfl:.

Boys dress up too at DLP - pirates, Peter Pan, Princes etc. If he doesn't want to though, thats perfectly fine too.

As my DD grew up, we changed the dressing up dresses to Disney t-shirts etc (and we're still both doing that nowadays, she's 12 and I'm 40-teen ;)).

I agree my girls wore princess dresses or Minnie Mouse dresses every day when they were little now we all where Disney t shirts while we are there :)

Mine two princesses took a different costume for each day and lil man had disney tshirts as he's not keen on dressing up!

we took costumes rolled up in a backpack and slipped them on when needed. we found the kids got a lot of attention from the characters and at the parades when dressed up, especially with the rarer outfits. my daughter dressed as jessie and was centreof attention at woodies roundup and jessie came specially to she her at the stars and cars parade as another character pointed her out

Definitely dress them up!

My two boys never like to put on costumes before (they are 6 and 3) but once they are in DLRP they can't take them off and wore them every single day. We went early this month so the weather still chilled at times. They wore long sleeve vests, thermal pants and normal clothes (disney themed t shirt) underneath their costumes. I put layers as that means they dont have to wear jackets on top.

They dressed up as woody, buzz and jake (from jake and the neverland pirates). As we stayed at Hotel Cheyenne the kids really love the woody costumes. I think next time i'll bring more costumes, maybe peter pan and prince. I really like those two costumes!

I have to say they got more attention when they dressed up. Buzz Lightyear even asked my son to replace him at the meet and greet (the one in studio) and left his meet and greet after my son took a photo with him! I think that was the highlight of our trip and my son still talking about it now!

Am I right in saying that if the kids dress up at the character associated with the ride (Buzz on Laserquest, a Pirate for POTC) they are let straight on the ride? Heard that from friend

its possible - if the CM invites them to ride because they are dressed up as a character for the specific ride, they get to ride with their family from the fastpass entrance or sometimes the exit if theres a CM stationed there :).

When we visited a few weeks ago there were LOADS of kids dressed up, Buzz Lightyear costumes seemed to be the most popular!

We got talking to a family with a young girl dressed as Rapunzel before one of the parades, she was telling us how much she loved the character was was really really excited to see her. When the floats came round Rapunzel herself spotted the girl and came over and said hello personally. The little girl was absolutely ecstatic and was in tears she was that excited! It was lovely to see!

My little girl loves getting dressed up. I get her new costumes most trips. For our next one I think she has 13. We have had some great interaction I think the costumes make them easier to spot from a crowd.

DD first went when she was 6 months and had Princesses dresses then. always pack t shirt and shorts/trousers in our bag in case she gets uncomfortable/dirty and needs to change.

I agree with dressing them up. Were just back and my kids wore a costume every day. My son is 7 and wore, buzz, woody, mike monsters inc(this one attracted loads of attention!) and captain hook. My daughters wore minnie, jessie and a few princesses.

In my opinion you get a little more attention from the characters if there dressed and if its with the ride theme you get the bonus of fast pass or getting to the front of the que. We tried this in toystory land and got on all the rides avoiding a 50min que and also buzz laser ride:)

my kids love dressing anyway so its a bonus
