Regarding morning madness, I had no idea about the Toon Town thing - just a coincidence. I just meant the hussle and bustle.

Regarding ADRs - a very magical moment for my family at WDW was the early ADR at Crystal Palace. We were able to eat, meet all of the Pooh characters and then be first in line at the castle RD. Do they do anything like that at DLR? I was told it doesn't really work the same at DLR, but I haven't tried, so I'm open to hearing thoughts on that. I like that kind of magic because I don't feel like I'm using valuable morning ride time to eat breakfast then!

Advanced dining reservations. It's an acronym used for WDW. For Disneyland it's PS for priority seating.

re: parades, I've seen several and we never sit around waiting. We just go on the rides we want and then walk along the side of the parade route from end to start until we hear the parade coming and then stop and watch it, standing behind the folks who have been sitting and waiting the last 2 hours- the parade is pretty short so we don't have to to have seating, although most of the time there is room on the street where DD5 can sit down if she wants.

re: ADR's we scored a 7:10am resie at DL Plaza Inn for a Sunday when DL does not have MM and opens at 8am - hopefully we'll be done by the time the park opens but if not it's not the end of the world- although we mainly go in the morning hours for the majority of our touring. Afternoons are for rest at the hotel, some shows, a FP ride and if in CA some Animation Academy drawing classes.

We've gone now for 11 park days over 3 trips over the past 18 months and still have not done the following - but hope we'll do it on our next trip over Xmas:
- Mickey's Magical Map
- Tiki Room
- Meet Tinkerbell
- The saloon show (can't remember its name)
- The canoes

BTW we love doing Tom Sawyer Island. DD5 has the best time exploring all those tunnels - not so much for us but she is so happy so that makes our day. I remember doing a rope drop to close DL day in my 20's and saw almost everything we wanted but was absolutely exhausted most of the day. Our shorter less busy days are so much more fun and so much more memorable for us. I'd much rather see and do less and enjoy the moments w. my family.

Last night I walked right up to the dole whip counter in the waiting area for the Tiki Room. The line on the outside was only 4 people deep! Fastest dole whip I have ever gotten!

Currently I am obsessed with getting selfies with the goats. I love the goats!

After having an AP for a year with younger kids, we felt we got to do all of our must-dos as a family with our kids (except canoes, never have made that work). Now that the kids are older (13 & 17), my husband and I don't have to go on rides we don't like (Star Tours and Matterhorn) and can chill on Main Street. Last trip we grabbed a bench for the flag ceremony, and it was the perfect spot to wait for the parade. And much more comfortable than sitting on the ground, or having a kid on your shoulders.

Its funny, because at DLR, you can burn out faster than at WDW. Even though WDW is soooo much more spread out, my family was WORKED after 3 days of DLR. I think because stuff is closer, you just feel like you can do it all if you go for it. As a result, I think you end up doing more. At least, for us this is how its gone.

This trip, it'll be different. I'm going slower.....at least, after about 11 am.

i wish i had time to :

- just stroll casually through DL and just notice all the the little details, take pictures of the details;

- go into every store and look at everything. So many neat things to take a look at. both merchandise for sale but also the decor of the store itself.

- have a long relaxing meal and just people watch
